Halloween 2021

Maleficent and Diaval were out in full
glory last night for trick or treating.

Here in Utah when Halloween falls on
Sunday we trick or treat on Saturday
night.  We were blessed with a warm day
and perfect weather.

The catalyst for this year's theme was
this Maleficent throne that I got
last year from Throne Kingdom.

I decided since Maleficent had her
wings stripped from her that her
detached wings should hang on the
chair above her head.

We decided against hosting
trick or treaters with Covid last year,
so Maleficent's throne finally came out.
It was featured in my entry last year
and some of the grandkids posed
on it.  It stands 92 inches tall and
is quite magnificent.  We ordered a second
one to put in our theater room if we ever
get started building our new home.

The costume was ordered off Amazon
last year also.  I didn't wear it to the two
Halloween dinners we hosted as it is huge
and heavy and the headpiece is heavy also,
so I used an old one that was lighter weight.
Since I was just sitting on my throne, the
dress was perfect for the evening.

Everyone wanted to know how we got the
green glow.  That was achieved by two
green light bulbs I purchased off Amazon.
We shot two fog machines at the doors and
the green reflected off the fog.

I was surprised how many people didn't
know who Diaval was - her sidekick crow
that she turned into a human when she
needed his help and then turned back
into a crow, a horse and a bear when
she needed.

We had 600 kids (and parents)
come to the door -
whew - that's a lot of candy!

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.
