Pretty In Pink Baby Shower

We have another baby on the way!

And she is due in three weeks.  When I
made this sign earlier in the year they
thought the due date was Dec. 8th, but
the doctor says Dec. 21st, but are going
to induce Dec. 17th.  We will see who is right.

Remember those fabulous friends I posted about
on my last post, well, they helped throw a shower
for my daughter-in-law.

I made the pink and white sugar cookies covered in
fondant.  I purchased the cookie cutters in Paris
and this was the first time I used them, except for the
crown.

These aren't the exact set of cookie cutters
I have, but they are similar - click here.

They are so easy to make with the cookie cutter
press on the fondant.  I love to sparkle them up
with a little bit of Wilton's pearlescent spray and
a fondant rose or bow.

I also made the pregnant belly cake.  I had wanted to give
this a try.  I used a 10 inch half round for the belly
and 2 six inch half rounds for the bust (found on Amazon).  The belly collapsed a little so the bust ended
up quite large, but my daughter-in-law
and I and my girlfriend laughed about it because
our busts always grew bigger than our bellies!

Then I piped pink and white roses on the half-rounds
and finished it off with a fondant bowl.  I love Satin Ice
fondant.  I used to make my own, but this tastes good
and is so easy to work with and it keeps for a long time,
so if I just need a little for some flowers or bows I don't
have to make a whole batch of fondant.  A large
container will last me a year using a little here
and there for cookies or decoration.

Here is the cute couple.  He is my baby and they were
married a year and a half ago.

Our hostess Barb made this adorable diaper cake.

Tammy made this fabulous baby watermelon salad.

My daughter made the hot fudge sauce to go
with the strawberries

This is our favorite Tortellini Caesar Salad.
It is so easy and always a hit.

Annette created a panini bar, where everyone makes
their own paninis.

And Rachel made one of my favorites
 (from Betty Crocker's Cookbook)

We have done a lot of showers together,
and when we all help, it is so easy.

I always like it when the husband shows up at
the end so everyone gets to see them and say hi.

They were definitely showered with gifts and love.
It is such a blessing to be surrounded by
family and friends who make life sweet.

I will let you know when this little angel
arrives.

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  1. THIS is the way to throw a baby shower!!! How pretty!!! I’m glad you talked about the cake. At first I thought it was a pink Minnie Mouse since you guys live Disney. When I saw it was a pregnant tummy, that made sense to me, too! It is SO cool!!!! And I can totally relate as my boobs exceeded my tummy’s growth by leaps and bounds!!!!!!!🤣 You are blessed to have had such caring and fun and talented friends to lend their hearts and hands to the project. Your reputation as Empress of Events remains solidly intact! Congratulations all around, and here’s to a healthy, happy baby whatever day she’s born!🥂
