Mickey's 90th Birthday Party

Did you know that Mickey and Minnie Mouse
are turning 90 this Sunday, November 18, 2018?
They have been entertaining the world for 90
years now, and we at Purple Chocolat Home
sure love them.

I bet we are all wishing we could be rocking
it at 90 like they are.

I decided to set a table celebrating their
big birthdays!!  90 years is quite an
amazing accomplishment.

They are still working hard and dancing
and giving it their all.

Our red and white polka dot plates
combined with a stack of red and white
plates and ruffled chargers set
the perfect table for their big party.

We even have polka dotted flatware
for the party.

Mickey is still active at his playhouse,

and Minnie is still baking up treats
at her bake shop.

Of course she would be baking some of
her famous Mickey Mouse cookies
as a gift to Mickey for his birthday.

Red and white glasses compliment their
birthday table.

Mickey is all decked out in his red and white,
because they are already celebrating
Christmas at Disney parks around the world.

Minnie has her sparkling holiday shoes on
so that she is festive too.

Give us a kiss to celebrate 90 years of
fun and entertainment.

ABC hosted
(It is Minnie's 90th too.)

You can celebrate at home with
Oreo's special Birthday Cake cookies,
Campbell Soup's special birthday cans,
90th birthday Goldfish and

even a 90th birthday party Le Creuset pan.
Ooh le le!! Haha!
(I need one of those, but it is a bit pricey!)

Just do a search for Mickey's 90th and
you can find a host of fun things to purchase.
(Minnie is turning 90 too - just saying!)

I will be celebrating with Mickey and Minnie
on Sunday night on TV.  Wish I could be there,
but I will be visiting Disneyland a week later.
 I will also party with

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  2. 90?!?!!? Really??? Wow! I had no idea the Disney franchise was that old! Hooray for our hometown (Kansas City!) boy, Walt Disney!!! I remember my first trip to Disneyland back in 1963. I was so enchanted by Sleeping Beauty’s castle...I threw a hissy for when my Daddy insisted we had to move on to the other attractions! I returned to Disneyland in the late 80s and was still just as enthralled by the castle 🏰. This time I was an adult and nobody could MAKE me hurry up!🤣 This is a really cool tribute to Mickey, Minnie, and the wonderful world of Disney!

    1. I would proud to have him as my hometown boy too! I just love reading about him and his dreams. Hope he would be happy. I didn't get to go until I was in college. We always begged to go and my parents said we wouldn't like it - hah!!! We are addicts now.

  3. What a great post to honor two famous stars that we’ve all grew up with. I love your dish stack, gorgeous. I am always drawn to the color red so this really made me smile. I sure hope you get the pan, great way of cooking and it is a show stopper!

    1. Haha I think you are remembering Disneyland's 50th. I was thinking the same thing, but he was born quite a bit before Disneyland.

  5. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful ideas. Love the Mickey and Minnie table. Just wanted to let you know how inspiring you are. Last year I bought the same Christmas bedspread that you used in the Little Elves room. My room came out beautiful because of your inspiration and ideas. Please keep the ideas coming.
