High Heels and Bling Bling - Is It In The Genes?

Have you read any Fancy Nancy books

written by Jane O'Conner and illustrated by
Robin Preiss Glasser?

Nancy adores all things fancy and loves dressing in boas and
sparkles and feathers.  She loves to use fancy words in her
world.  Unlike Nancy, her family is very ordinary.
She tries to teach them to be fancy.

If you have any Fancy Nancys in your world, they would
love these fabulous books, young or old.

I have decided that I am a Fancy Nancy.
I don't think I was born this way.
I remember being more of a tom-boy,
but once I discovered my inner Fancy Nancy I
embraced her totally.

I have sweet little Fancy Nancy granddaughters.

I am glad that they are!

One Fancy Nancy granddaughter decided she wanted to
"open a shoe store".
She brought down some of Grandma Jackie's high heels
and sandals and set them up on the piano.
They were "for sale".
Fortunately none of the guests were my same size.

Our little entrepreneur is 5 years old.
She came for a sleep over for 4 days while
her mother went to Girl's Camp for Church.
She announced, "I want a complete makeover."

It started with getting her ears pierced (with mom's permission)
but then she wanted her hair cut (had to call dad for
permission on that one.)

Then she announced, "Well, I need a new outfit too."

Then it was, "Well, what about shoes?"

This little one is so delicate and cute.
She already wears bling bling.
She doesn't ask for much.

I think this one may be the ultimate Fancy Nancy.  A sweet little
Minnie Mouse voice comes with this darling.  I can't help
but hear her voice and have my heart melted.  She
can have whatever she wants.

This is our latest Fancy Nancy.  Hope she loves
all the pretty things grandma and mama put her in.

Is it in the genes?

I don't know, but my mother loved high heels,
I love high heels,
my daughters and daughter-in -laws
do too and a whole new generation
loves to get mine down off the
shelf and clatter around in the house in them.

It must be in the genes!

Pink, purple, red, these are all Fancy Nancy colors.

Fancy Nancy belongs to
Pink Saturday.

She would be here every week!

heels collage are all from photobucket.com)

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  27. I was called Fancy Nancy as a little girl. My name is Nancy and I always had to wear a pink dress and jewellery. I have to find some of those books, I've never seen them before. Oh, my education is sadly lacking! Happy Pink Saturday. See you next week.
