Queen of Halloween

Every year I get the comments that
I am the
Queen of Halloween.

Well, this year, I felt like one.

I have never had so many fun costumes
and had so much fun
during October!  The many faces
of Mrs. Purple Chocolat Home
(and that doesn't include the Olaf
costume I spent two days making!)

The house was decorated early,
tables were set,
and we had lots of company to enjoy
the fun.

In addition, we have been able to
run from one fabulous event to another
making this the best October ever!

We have hosted a Halloween Party
for over sixty,

We have tried out new treats and
new crafts to feather our "scary"
nest.

We made fun cupcakes that were on our
bucket list for years,

We got to enjoy Witches' Tea at the Grand America
which is our first time for this at Halloween.
We had so much fun
creating quite a stir as
a Disney cast of characters,

while we enjoyed delicious afternoon tea
or hot cocoa.  The food was all fabulous!

It was so fun to hear, "Oh, can I have a picture
with Ursula, she is my favorite Disney Character?" or
"I want a picture with Snow White!"  or "Maleficent,
can I have a picture with you?"

Of course the cutest was, "Mom, the real
Elsa is here, can I have a picture with her?"

But in the end, I think Ursula
stole the show with her purple face
and waving tentacles!

We went to Witches' Night Out
at Gardner Village with family
and friends and had faces painted,
ate fun food and danced the night
away until our little witchy feet
couldn't take anymore fun.

Camera Shy at Gardner Village took
professional photos - 2 poses for $20 so
we took advantage of that.
The highlight of the season had to be
going to Disneyland for
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
where the Belles reigned supreme.

In addition we helped with Trick or Treating
down at The Shops At Riverwoods.

Can a girl have more fun than this year?

I doubt it!

Now all I have left to do
is buy candy for over 300 that come
on Halloween Night!

Halloween will never be this fun again!

Witches' Night Out - Oh The Places I've Been

Put on your pointed hat
and your pointed boots
and come party with us
at Witches' Night Out.

We flew in with these two
cute witches
Miss Utah County, Hannah Harkness
and
Little Miss Utah County, Kyle McCann,
my oldest grandchild.

Park your brooms, you
will be walking and
dancing the rest of the night.

You might even pick up a scary warlock
while you are there (hubby of mine!)

I may have flown in with
the queens from Utah County,
but this is the queen of Gardner Villages'
Witchfest!
(She lives and works here
during the month of October
so you will always find her.  Just
listen for her wicked cackle!)

She has the most
AMAZING
costume ever!
She even has "Gardner Village"
blinged across the back of her
dress this year.  I am sure it
gets wilder each year.  No one
can compete with her for
Evening Gown tonight.

And she stays in character teasing
and insulting (gently) you.
She is such a riot.

I have to admit to a little jewelry envy.
This witchy-poo is bedazzled!

She stopped long enough for
a sweet picture with our queens.
Look at the hem of her dress
and her fancy boots.
Oh wow, she is stylin'!

Looks like we might need to upgrade some
of our boots!
Alas I couldn't find my boots and ended
up in heels this year - double drat!!

The queens had fun posing.

They are kind witches and
will happily pose with you too!

There are just too many fun photo spots.

You will find witches all over
the property, day and night.

(Excuse me madam, you might
want to shut the door!)

Whew!  These girls will stop
and take a photo
with anyone who asks.
(P...U...)

Watch out because
they are flying in
from everywhere.

No one wants to miss out on the fun.

This little diva lights up
and so does her broom.

And she has some really
fancy sisters running around too.

As the sun goes down the party
gets rocking.  The dancing takes place
under this glowing green tree.

There is music and
dancing and great eating
and of course every witches' favorite -
shopping, shopping, shopping!
Gardner Village is a collection
of shops, a restaurant and
a bakery.  It is based around
the Gardner Mill which was
built in 1877 and is located
at 1050 W. 7800 S.
 in West Jordan, Utah.
 They have
other old homes they have
brought in and those are the
shops.  There is something
for everyone here.

So get your sparkle on and
come to the
the biggest and best
Halloween party that I know
of.
They are having it again
this Friday and Saturday,
Oct. 24 and 25, 2013
from 6:00-10:00.
So get your on your brooms and
come early for pictures and
less crowded shopping.  You
can even have your make up and nails done.

Under the green glow of the
magical tree
the witches that own shops have
a boot parade.

These girls know how to strut their stuff.

Wow, where can I get some of these?
Unbelievable!!!

Every great party ends with dessert.
Thanks for coming along for the party!
Maybe we will see you there
this weekend!

I will be flying on over to

Spookify The Fireplace

It's time to get the Halloween
decorations out at
Purple Chocolat Home
and start having fun!

This Halloween house is
all about the kiddies and
last year I got in trouble when they
came over and saw that some things
(like the animated butler and life size witches
weren't out yet!)

If you are new to
Purple Chocolat Home
and
Halloween
you need to know that we love shoes
(to wear, to decorate with and even to eat)
and
Witches Shoes
are tons of fun for decorating!

That Wicked Witch
may have wanted
Dorothy's shoes,
but we wanted hers!
As a matter of fact
we raided her
whole closet
thanks witchy-poo!

She got back at us though
by putting
a hex on our photos!
But we like them better
this way!

Hope you are having some Halloween
fun.

For those that live in Utah,
Gardner Village is having
Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12
and again Oct. 25 and 26
from 6:00-10:00.

This is the funnest party of witches
you have ever come across.
You won't believe the outfits -
I will try to get some of the witches
to pause in their flight and pose for me.

Come join the party and have a blast
and come hungry, there's lots of food
and shopping and even
a wagon ride out to see where
the witches live at Cricket Hollow Swamp.

Witches, Witches Everywhere - Gardner Village & A Giveaway

WITCHY WOMAN
Have you noticed that witches have
taken over Purple Chocolat Home?

There are not many witches dressed up in
PINK
PINK
PINK
But as you can see, Witch Jacqueline is one of them.

I love dressing up in costume - must be the theatrical
part of me - and I love hosting Halloween Parties.
I think we have hosted parties 29 out of 31
years of marriage.  Actually, our first date was
on Halloween night, and we both dressed up and
went disco dancing at the Star Palace in town.

Gardner Village, in the Salt Lake area brings
out their witches every year.  These ladies are
pretty grand.  They appear mid-September and
are set amid the quaint old homes and mill that
make up the shopping and restaurant at Gardner
Village.

You can sit next to them and have your picture taken.

Or just wander around and marvel at
their size (especially the noses,
chins and bustlines!)

Whoa, take a gander at those honkers.
There is nothing petite about these gals, let me
tell you.

This one is part of a circle of gals that spin round
and round.

This one has flown up into a tree.

This big gal is trying to direct the air traffic,
guess she didn't do so well.

They are literally peaking out of everywhere.

The little one on the right belongs to me,
she's a live one!

This witchy-poo is hiding in a barrel of blankets
outside of a quilt shop.

Drewcilla would love riding with this witch.
If you didn't catch Drewcilla, she is our bicycling
witch that goes up each October, and yes she
really pedals and she lights up at night.

This little lady and I should open up shop together.

They have fun things going on all October.
Click here to see what's happening if you
are going to be in the area, or if you want
to get creative and bring it to your area.

They have:

Breakfast With The Witches (meet
the witch royalty, they sing and dance
and bring the kids up on stage - it's a party!),
Ride With Witches (ride on the back of a vintage
truck and hear stories from a witch),
Witches Night Out (costumes and dancing-
absolutely a blast and you will never
see more elaborate costumes all
in one place - tons of fun)
Witch-A-Palooza (a theater production)
Extreme Witch Make-over (get your make-up done)
and more.

Before I leave you to fly off somewhere,
I just need to take one minute more and
introduce you to their cast of characters -
The Witch Royalty.
These are the lovely witches that will entertain
you throughout the activities of the month.
(Yes, I was tempted to try out this year to
be one of them!)
They sing, they dance, they make you laugh,
and they pose for pictures too.

So fly your broom over to Gardner Village if you are in town.
We'd love to have you drop by.
Hug, hug, kiss, kiss!

Now, Beaulah, don't get mad just because
you are not the only witch in town. (Do you notice
the resemblance?)
See her twin sister Zoulah over at
has already cooked up a storm for Halloween.
I tell you, Beaulah is the lazy twin!

I will be sharing this on
