All White Cookie Pops - Christmas Circus Animal Pops or Truffles

My daughter called with a request for all white
desserts for her oldest daughter's baptism and our
first granddaughter to be baptized.

Kylie is our oldest grandchild and she just
turned eight and is being baptized so I
decided to create a new cookie pop
as all of the kids (and the adults too) love
cookie pops for a party.

How about Christmas Circus Animal Cookies?
They Christmas package have all white cookies,
no pinks allowed.

We love Circus Animal Cookies and had made Circus Animal
ice cream with them this summer.  I had no idea they
would be so tasty in cookie pops.  I like them a lot better than
Of course you could pick out the white ones from the regular bag
of circus animal cookies if you care about them being all white.
Usually I won't care if they are all white.

Christmas Circus Animal Cookie Pops Recipe

1 pkg Christmas Circus Animal Cookies
(all white cookies)
3/4 container Betty Crocker's Vanilla Frosting
3 C. melted white chocolate coating discs
sucker sticks

Crush the cookies in a food processor until they are
fine crumbs.  Stir in 3/4 of a contain of Betty Crocker's Vanilla
frosting.  The frosting should be well blended in.  Form into about 30
balls, placing them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
Place in fridge about 20 minutes or until the dough is stiff.

Melt the white chocolate coating in a microwave safe bowl at
30 second intervals, stirring in between whether it looks like it
has melted or not.  It will take about 3 times to melt completely.
Dip each sucker stick into a little of the chocolate and stick
into the balls.  Let that harden, then dip the balls into the
melted chocolate.  These were nice and firm and I didn't have
any problems with any of them falling off the sticks.  Decorate with
dusting sugar or other candy decor while wet.  Place in a block of
foam until the chocolate hardens or in a deep bowl of sugar.  The
sugar will hold the sticks in place until they harden.

They were really, really yummy.  I liked them better than Oreo
Cookie Pops.  They disappeared really quickly.

You could also omit the sticks and make them into truffles.
We will definitely make these again.  They received lots of oohs and aahs.

I also dipped White Chocolate Strawberries
and made

My daughter made
Eggnog Cupcakes and Almond Cookies.

All white desserts had a very pretty effect.
This would be fun for a shower or a wedding
or any wintery event too.

She displayed a picture of Kylie outside of the
Mount Timpanogos Temple which she had taken
on a snowy day.

This is our newly baptized Kylie, the newest member
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
(Members are baptized when they turn eight in our church -
the age of accountability or when they begin to understand right from
wrong.)

It was a beautiful day.  My daughter's husband is the
youngest of 10 and with our 5 children and all of
the family, they had 72 over to lunch afterwards.  That
was a houseful but there was plenty of food and fun.

I will be sharing this with

Periwinkle's Birthday Party and Disco Dust Pops

Have you ever seen anything edible that is this pretty?
These were for little Adele's 3rd birthday party with her friends.

My daughter in law Audra made these and I walked in and
saw them and couldn't believe how gorgeous they are.

She just made regular Oreo Pops
and dipped them in pink candy coating and while
wet sprinkled on Disco Dust.  I had to order
some online.  These were just fabulously gorgeous.

Adele had just watched Tinkerbell's new movie
Secret of the Wings
where Tinkerbell meets her twin, a winter fairy named
Periwinkle.

Well, Grandma found the only Periwinkle costume in
the state from what she could tell and surprised her
with this cute costume.

Adele looks amazingly like I did as a child.  It is magical to
watch her and wonder if that is how I acted and looked at the
same age that she is.

Yes, this is me around age 2.  We look a lot alike.

Candy Corn Pop Critters

Beaulah is cackling with glee over her
 Candy Corn Brownie Pops
that we whipped up for a family dinner.

I am sure you know those little grocery store cookbooks that try
to jump in the cart as you are checking out and last year
we had purchased one entitled
  Halloween Food, Fun & Crafts
by Best Recipes.

These cute little guys caught our sweet tooth attention and so
we had some fun trying to make ours as cute as they
were in the magazine.  We failed, but since we aren't going
to show you their's, these will be cute enough.

We started by making our favorite brownies and forming
them into a triangle on a stick.  Pop those in the fridge
for about 20 minutes.  Just before pulling them out of
the fridge melt some candy melts on the microwave
for 30 seconds, stir and then melt for another 30 seconds
if needed.  Dip the stick into the melted candy and insert
the stick into the shaped brownie.

Replace the pan of pops in the fridge while you melt
the three colors of candy melts for the candy corn pops.

After melting,we placed the melted candy into these small deep dishes as
you want to be able to dip the pop completely.

Start with the yellow and completely coat the pop.
Stand the pop upright in a piece of styrofoam until the coating
solidifies.  When it is solid, dip the pop 2/3 of the way into
the orange candy.  Again place it in styrofoam and let it
become solid.  Finish with the white.

Now here is something we learned - the pop needs to be wider
at the bottom and tiny at the top as that top is going to end
up with 3 layers of candy coating on it, so ours turned out
more oblong than theirs.

Meanwhile, heat some orange and yellow chewy candies
like Starburst or Laffy Taffy in the microwave a few
seconds.  Shape the eyes and nose.  Use a tweezer to
dip the eyes in a little melted candy coating and place
on the face.  They are tiny little things and will love to
roll away from you.

Place dots on the eyes and shape the crazy smiles
with a little melted black candy coating.  The recipe
suggests black piping gel but that is way too runny
and will make a mess of your cute little faces.

(They look like something on Sesame Street!)

Even though his shape is a little on the long side,
we still loved them and Beaulah was proud as punch
at her creations.  We stuck a little floral foam in pewter
goblets and topped them off with candy for a holiday
presentation.

Spooky Pops and A Winner

Some of Beaulah's friends came
over to visit today.

We thought we would have a little
fun with them and played around
photographing them and then
messing with the photos to
make them look more scary than
they are in real life.

The grandkids really had fun with them!

Num, num, munch, munch!

SCREAMMMMMM!!!!

Sorry guys, but you are just so tasty.

Beaulah,

Beaulah Loves Football - Go Team Cookie Pops

First let me remind you that there are
only a few days left to join in on my

Now, what is Beaulah up to ....

This may surprise you, but
Beaulah loves football.
 She thinks we ought to
change it up a little though and get
some broomsticks like Harry Potter
does in quiditch!

Football pops are quite the hit with
the football players.

My daughter wanted to make these
for her husband's last football game.
The guys on the team are always
begging for her to make cake or cookie pops.

She thought football shaped ones would be fun.

Beaulah thought we should make them
in Halloween colors, but we decided
for a traditional brown football.

Put them on a stick and they are fun to
display, or dip them like truffles

Everyone around here really likes
the little pops on a stick better.

Now here is the tricky sticky part.
We had to send Beaulah out of the room
because she kept cackling at the funny
shaped footballs, but here's some help:

1.  Roll them into a ball
2.  Then roll them slightly to elongate
3.  Just gently touch, touch, touch to shape the points
(they won't be perfect) - don't try to pinch the ends,
they are too soft and you don't want hard points.
4.  Put them in the fridge to let them harden up
5.  Now reshape them a little
6.  When you dip them, they come out smooth
and more like a football.

Then finish them off with the white
chocolate coating for the
stitching and laces.
They were a lot easier on a stick
when it came to putting on the white
chocolate.

Cookie Pop Recipe

1 pkg. Oreo cookies
8 oz. cream cheese
or 1 tub ready made cream cheese frosting

Milk and white chocolate coating discs

Blend the cookies until fine crumbs in a food
processor.  Mix in the cream cheese or frosting
by hand.  If you use the cream cheese, be sure and
refrigerate the finished pops.

Meanwhile melt the coating discs.  I place
between one and two cups in a microwaveable
bowl (make sure it is a microwaveable bowl or
you may scorch your chocolate discs).  Turn
the microwave on for one minute.  Stir - WHETHER
IT LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS TO BE STIRRED OR NOT.
This will prevent the bottom from scorching.  Then
melt in 15 second increments until all the discs
are melted.  Let the discs cool about 10-15 minutes.
While dipping, reheat for about 10 seconds as
necessary to keep the chocolate thin and smooth.

Shape into footballs and place in fridge for about
half an hour or until firm.  Reshape as needed.

Take only a few out at a time as they will soften
quickly and place on a stick.  Dip in the milke
chocolate, shake slightly to remove excess, twirl
a little to make sure it is smooth and not
dripping.

HERE IS THE BIG TRICK -
STICK UPRIGHT IN A PIECE OF FOAM!!!
(Like shown in picture above)

I have seen so many people try these
and they turn out a mess because they
are trying to sit them down before
they are dry.  Let them dry upright
in the foam. (Or Beaulah will be cackling
at you too!)

Finish with the white chocolate piped
on with a very small tip.  Make sure the
white chocolate has cooled a little so it
isn't just dripping out the end.

Make some for your
favorite team!

Snowball Cookie Pops

I love the look when the snow has freshly fallen, thickly
blanketing everything in sight.  That white on white effect
out on the back deck was just gorgeous.

White on white is lovely for a dessert too and
what better dessert than an individual cookie
pop dusted with sparkly white snow apparel
and a hidden chocolate center.

These Snowball Cookie Pops were dressed all in
white for a winter wedding.

I stacked two styrofoam cake rounds and held them
together with bamboo skewers, then edged them with a
wide white satin ribbon held on with pearl topped straight
pins.  The front was decorated with a silver frosted
floral to give it an elegant look.

The bride wanted an all white dessert table.

Three different candy decor were used to create the snowball
effect and the tops of
the styrofoam rounds were also dusted with sparkling
snowflakes to create the look of fresh fallen snow.

Cookie Pop Recipe
(Adapted from Picky Palate who adapted hers from Bakerella.)

1 pkg. Oreo Sandwich Cookies
1 container Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Frosting
White chocolate coating
Candy sprinkles in desired colors

Blend the entire package of Oreos in the food processor until
evenly fine.  Mix the frosting mix in by hand until well blended.
I like to use a pair of latex gloves while I do this.

Form the cookie mix into balls and place on a
parchment lined cookie pan.  Place in the fridge
until set.  (This should make about 50.)

Melt the white chocolate coating.  I melt mine in a
microwave safe bowl.  Melt for 1 minute, stir whether it
looks like it needs it or not, or it will scorch on the bottom.
Melt one minute more and stir.  If it needs more time,
melt at no more than 30 second intervals, always
stirring in between.  ( I have been dipping chocolates
for 30 years now and have had great success with
the microwave as long as you don't forget to stir.)

Remove cookie balls from fridge - don't remove
all at a time or they will get too soft and fall off the
stick as you dip them
.  Dip the end of a sucker stick in the white
chocolate coating. Stick it into the ball.  Let set up.
This should help it from falling off.  If they begin to
fall into the coating, put them back in the fridge to
harden up a little more.
Dip the ball into the white chocolate.  Hold over the
pop over the bowl and let drip for a minute, twirling
to remove excess.  Don't shake or it might fall off
into the bowl.

Sprinkle any decorations on it while the chocolate is
still wet.  They will set up pretty quickly since the center
is cold.  If the chocolate
drips down the stick, wipe it off with your finger.

Stick the pops into a piece of styrofoam until they
set up hard and you can touch them.  (This is really
important to keep them beautiful.)  If you don't have
a piece of styrofoam handy, fill a large bowl with
several inches of sugar and stand them in the sugar
until they are set.

(You can also use an 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese in
place of the frosting, but then you have to worry about
keeping them refrigerated.)

You can also dip them like a truffle without the stick.
The richness of the dark Oreo is perfectly complimented
by the white chocolate coating.

They turned out beautifully for the wedding.
We made over 250.  The servers continually refilled
the tiered display so that it stayed beautiful all night.

If you haven't given cake or cookie pops a try,
do it.  They are so elegant and fun.

These little beauties are going to be "popping"
