Thanksgiving Turkey Table

The dining room at
Purple Chocolat Home
has been filled with
Thanksgiving bling this season,
so our Thanksgiving tablescape uses
a lot of that decor to celebrate
upcoming Thanksgiving.

I bought these beautiful turkey bowls in my
early days of collecting tableware from
Spiegel catalogue.  I was wise enough
to purchase 16 of them - thinking of the
future.  They are still my very favorite.

We haven't eaten Thanksgiving at home
for many years, as we all go south for
a little warmth (as many as can go each year)
but I always like to set a Thanksgiving
table.

Looking back at Thanksgiving tables
on my blog, I realized I have misplaced
a whole box of some of my favorite
Thanksgiving pumpkins and I can't
find some plates too.  They are probably
hidden behind some Christmas boxes
somewhere.

Here is another shot of the turkey,
in all of its glory.

I found these darling crackle finish
turkey napkin holders a few years ago
at Home Goods.

This gold flatware has been in service
for over twenty years.  I realized I had
an awful lot of these, as I pulled them out.

I have enjoyed gold forever, especially
around the holidays, and it is fun to see it
back in decorating.

I paired gold rimmed goblets
with clear water goblets,
and I decided to not cover the beauty
of the wood table.

A white and crystal tray from Z Gallerie
holds a collection of gold sparkles and
a sparkly white pumpkin.

The gold and white velvet pumpkins
are a soft touch to the table.

This sparkly cream pumpkin is just yummy!

The plate stack are square plates
in three sizes, with the top one turned on
an angle for interest.  They were from
Home Goods years ago too.

I love their textured edge, and they were some that
I was able to get quite a few of, so they are
perfect for feeding our large crowd.

I always love lots of bling,
as you well know!!

I hope you have a marvelous Thanksgiving
surrounded by family and friends, and that
your day, year and life is filled with gratitude
for all of the blessings you enjoy.

We had a breakfast for our Relief Society
group from church here on Saturday, where
over 40 women enjoyed pancakes, quiche,
yogurt and fruit and one another's
company.  I asked that they focused their
conversations on their blessings - putting aside
any discouraging conversations - thus making
it a Gratitude Breakfast.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  4. Your table looks lovely, Jacqueline. Our group will be small with only 6 or 7. I've been puzzling over how I want to set the table this year. Thinking a bit more casual and rustic perhaps. Will see what inspires. Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Jacqueline, Our Thanksgiving gathering will be very small this year as all our usual guests are traveling, including all the kids. I have seen so many new gold flatware patterns this year and it does seem to be making a comeback. It looks wonderful as a pop of color on your beautiful table. And I really love your idea of a Gratitude Breakfast. I may try that at our next dinner party. Happy Thanksgiving and have a wonderful time during your escape to the sun! Linda

  10. Hosting a Gratitude Dinner makes you an activist instead of a reactionary, in my mind. Great choice! Your bling always sticks just the right balance, and I'm so glad that you bought 16 of those wonderful turkey bowls all those years ago. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for inviting us for a peek.
