Swamp Water Punch - Drink At Your Own Risk

Are you looking for something different
to serve as a drink this year for
Halloween?  How about
Swamp Water?

Every year at Purple Chocolat Home we
host a Halloween Dinner where all
kinds of silly and spooky food is served.

This year we will be featuring a fun
creation that Beaulah  came up with.

Swamp Water
a murky greenish drink straight
out of the swamp.

Not really, it is a fruity punch that is
delicious, it only looks murky and swampish!

If you are like me, you have been seeing these
fun mini milk bottles for parties all over
blogland.   Beaulah just insisted that we
needed our Swamp Water in something
a little better than a plastic cup.

So of course I got online and started looking.

mentioned that there didn't seem
to be a reasonable source for these
in the US and she
gave a great suggestion -

purchase Starbuck's Frappucino Drinks
which can be purchased at Target for
around $5 for 4,
and remove the labels.

You can transform these inexpensive drink
bottles easily.  I could get 16 of them for what a set of
6 were going to cost before shipping and theirs
were so mini that they didn't make much sense.

So Beaulah and I flew to the store and
dragged them home.

Beaulah and I don't care for coffee drinks so we just emptied
the bottles, soaked them in water and
used a little Goo Gone to get rid of
any remaining glue.

Tip Junkie had links to tons of
free Halloween Printables.

She connected  me with Fantasy Jr. and I found
exactly what I was looking for -
labels for Swamp Water.

We
reduced them by 50% and printed them on
clear label paper.  After cutting them to
size, just peel and stick.

The labels and bottles along with purple
striped paper straws really make
our Halloween drink fun.
(I got the straws at a local scrapbooking
store, Pebbles In My Pocket, but you can
find them online just by googling paper straws).

Swamp Water Recipe

1 - 46 oz. Dole Pineapple juice
1- 12 oz limeade concentrate, thawed
1 - 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
(this makes the punch murky)
24 oz. water
24 oz. 7 Up or Sprite

Americolor's Electric Green Food color
Blue food color

Mix everything together , adding the food coloring
until you get the murky green you want.
Serve chilled or over ice.

Serve this up in these fun glasses for your
Halloween party!

The family already tested this one out and it is
a hit.  Thanks Beaulah and thanks to
Celebrations at Home,  Tip Junkie
and Fantasy Jr. for helping us create such
a fun presentation for our Halloween drink.

Beaulah and I want to take this
party drink to

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  6. Hi, Jaqueline, it's nice to meet you. I have followed your blog for months and never seem to find the time to comment. I'm sorry, shame on me, you have the most fabulous blog!
I don't know how to do this, but is there something called "linking up" a post to someone else's? Like your Foodie Friday, I
have some recipes for baked goods with pumpkin in them and I'd love to do your
"Swamp Water Punch Drink" as a feature on my blog. If you have time, please email me. I thank you for the awesome post.
    Warm Regards,

  12. I would love to make you some cricut labels for your swamp juice. :) My daughter is mortified that you would pour frappuccino down the sink though. :) You wouldn't believe the stuff I have stored under my drafting table. I never throw a glass bottle away. I will have to point out to my husband that now I don't have to make anyone drink coffee til they explode so I can have the empties. I knew my madness would pay off. I have a stash of swamp juice bottles ready to be swamped. lol. Don't take this wrong, but that green stuff looks like it would smell swampy...that is a high compliment for Beaulah....very realistic looking. This blog is more fun than ought to be legal. Thanks for the laughs!

  24. I'm looking for something new to serve as our Halloween party drink, and thanks to you I just found it! We'll be doing ours in a large punch bowl though, do you think this drink would still work for that? Or should this be more of an individual drink?

Also, it's killing me that you dumped out all that Starbucks! Haha!
