Sunset Beach Tablescape

Welcome to Sunset Beach!

I have set a romantic sunset table for two right
on the sand.

The sun is just setting on a day in paradise.
What a beautiful cast it gives to everything.

Scallop shell dishes layer and are topped with a glass
half shell over a silver charger.

This view looks out to the Pacific Ocean.

Cream, white and black make up the color scheme
for an elegant beach tablescape.

I love the golden sheen the setting sun makes on the
dishes and glassware.

Everything is placed on a tan woven mat.

Inlaid shell in the napkin ring keep with the design scheme.

It is fun to gather shell shaped items to pull the
setting together.

The edges of the plates are carved with shell designs.

Tiny little shell sauce dishes follow the shape of the layered plates
and collect the sunlight.

A black shawl lays on top of the mat.  White shells and
roses adorn the shawl.

(I had been singing my husband the song, "You Don't Bring
Me Flowers Anymore", so he bought these gorgeous
white roses for me at Costco!

Here is a view from above.

The handblown glass goblets have bits of white glass embedded
in it which complement the setting.

This view looks up to the homes in Pedregal in Cabo.

A little shell adorned box, additional shells and
 white bougainvillea
let the sunset play off of them.

I hope this tablescape brought a little bit of sunshine into
your life today!

I will be posting this with

  8. Everything looks beautiful, especially in the glow of the sunset. For that reason, I love to have family photos taken during sunset:) That was ambitious of you to take your tablescape down to the beach, but well worth it.

  11. Oh, this tablescape on the beach is so lovely with the sun setting and casting those hues on the dishes. We had a beach dinner a couple of years ago while visiting on Kiawah Island in S.C. I have pictures of the sunset at that time and the vision has remained in my mind. Your dishes and goblets are so perfect.....PERFECT!!

  15. My husband's family had a home right on the water at Sunset Beach when he was growing up. He talks about walking out the door and diving in the waves everyday. Sand and surf really are our favorite memories and your scape is just so pretty with the setting sun. Love the silver, starfish, and rose accessories with all of your shell dishes...great job!

  16. Hi Jacqueline!

Your beach scene takes my breath away! We just got back from 6 wks in FL & I can tell you, we didn't experience anything so lovely as yours.

I was very frustrated that I couldn't access anyone blogs...not even my own...while down there. Spotty, difficult wi-fi. Ugh!

I see that I have LOTS of catching up to do on your blog. I'll be back after my Chicago company leaves at the end of the week.

    I've missed visiting you!!
    Hugs,
    Rett

  25. Beautiful, as always. I think that you need to take the first shot of the sunlight glowing through the goblet with the ocean in the background...and make it into a notecard. Thank you for sharing your magnificent design. Cherry Kay

  38. You have gone to a lot of trouble to create a delightfully unique setting on The beach at. Sunset. I hope the occasion was as romantic as it looks.

  39. I am so glad that I "wandered" backwards a little bit and caught this post. This is my idea of heaven...I love everything you've done. The dishes, the stemware, the flowers, the view...perfect.

When I do try to picnic on the beach, I end up with sand in everything...sweating...the wind blows everything away and the gulls are grabbing the food right out of my hand. For me, the idea always seems so much better than the reality.
