Sunset Beach Tablescape

Welcome to Sunset Beach!

I have set a romantic sunset table for two right
on the sand.

The sun is just setting on a day in paradise.
What a beautiful cast it gives to everything.

Scallop shell dishes layer and are topped with a glass
half shell over a silver charger.

This view looks out to the Pacific Ocean.

Cream, white and black make up the color scheme
for an elegant beach tablescape.

I love the golden sheen the setting sun makes on the
dishes and glassware.

Everything is placed on a tan woven mat.

Inlaid shell in the napkin ring keep with the design scheme.

It is fun to gather shell shaped items to pull the
setting together.

The edges of the plates are carved with shell designs.

Tiny little shell sauce dishes follow the shape of the layered plates
and collect the sunlight.

A black shawl lays on top of the mat.  White shells and
roses adorn the shawl.

(I had been singing my husband the song, "You Don't Bring
Me Flowers Anymore", so he bought these gorgeous
white roses for me at Costco!

Here is a view from above.

The handblown glass goblets have bits of white glass embedded
in it which complement the setting.

This view looks up to the homes in Pedregal in Cabo.

A little shell adorned box, additional shells and
 white bougainvillea
let the sunset play off of them.

I hope this tablescape brought a little bit of sunshine into
your life today!

I will be posting this with

White goblets - Cabo
Shell plates, flatware and napkins - Home Goods
Silver chargers - Target
Glass shell cups - (I don't remember)
Shells on black stands - Z Gallerie
Shell box - Tai Pan
Star fish - Wal Mart

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  1. how fun to see the sunny sea again, it's a cold wet day on the coast here this week. all so pretty~

  2. Oh how I'd love to have the warm sand between my toes right about now! Great setting Jacqueline, lovin' the beautiful goblets! Your setting does look like paradise:@)

  5. Hi Jacqueline!

Your tablescape is very romantic and lovely. What a gorgeous sunset.

  6. Very beautiful...the sunset does look so inviting...Blessings, Catherine

  7. Wow. Some people get to live where it takes others of us hundreds of dollars to visit! This is beautiful.

  8. Everything looks beautiful, especially in the glow of the sunset. For that reason, I love to have family photos taken during sunset:) That was ambitious of you to take your tablescape down to the beach, but well worth it.

  9. You are amazing! I just love this ~ and love seeing the beach and water...I so wish I were there!
    Enjoy every moment ~

    The shell dishes are beautiful.

  10. Just lovely tablescape and setting. I miss the ocean so much. Thanks for sharing these fabulous photos!!

  11. Oh, this tablescape on the beach is so lovely with the sun setting and casting those hues on the dishes. We had a beach dinner a couple of years ago while visiting on Kiawah Island in S.C. I have pictures of the sunset at that time and the vision has remained in my mind. Your dishes and goblets are so perfect.....PERFECT!!

  12. Oh, you are making me a bit green. How wonderful to be at the beach with that gorgeous sunset. Love the details. I think I have the same shell dishes. Just a few pieces that I picked up last summer.
    Enjoy Cabo! ~ Sarah

  13. What a beautiful setting on a gorgeous beach. My hubby doesn't bring me flowers OR take me to great places like this! Love the beach theme.

  14. So beautiful! Just like everything you create!

  15. My husband's family had a home right on the water at Sunset Beach when he was growing up. He talks about walking out the door and diving in the waves everyday. Sand and surf really are our favorite memories and your scape is just so pretty with the setting sun. Love the silver, starfish, and rose accessories with all of your shell dishes...great job!

  16. Hi Jacqueline!

Your beach scene takes my breath away! We just got back from 6 wks in FL & I can tell you, we didn't experience anything so lovely as yours.

I was very frustrated that I couldn't access anyone blogs...not even my own...while down there. Spotty, difficult wi-fi. Ugh!

I see that I have LOTS of catching up to do on your blog. I'll be back after my Chicago company leaves at the end of the week.

    I've missed visiting you!!

  17. Green with envy here just thinking of being able to be at the beach and be warm. wonderful tablescape!

  18. Stunning! Lovely! Serene! I would love to be there right now. You leave me wishing for the roar of the sea. You exquisitely pulled everything together to create a wistfully romantic look. Perfection!

  19. What a beautiful setting for a tablescape. The sun-kissed pictures are so pretty. Love the shell dishware and the white goblets. No sun, no sand.....sigh! Joni

  20. what beautiful pictures lucky you. Love the shell dishes

  21. Cabo *sigh*...I'm so enthralled with the waves rolling in & the setting sun & sand, I totally ignored beach side tablescape! Beautiful~ love the goblets especially!

  22. How beautiful! I'd love to see Cabo one day. You must have your own place there judging from the lovely dishes and accessories! Oh, how romantic...

  23. That was just lovely. Frame after frame of seaside beauty.

  24. Oooh, so romantic! Just gorgeous! Can't beat the backdrop!

  25. Beautiful, as always. I think that you need to take the first shot of the sunlight glowing through the goblet with the ocean in the background...and make it into a notecard. Thank you for sharing your magnificent design. Cherry Kay

  26. How spectacular! Every single image outdoes the one before.

Today is my wedding anniversary but my husband is out of town. I think that I will email this to him to let him know how he can make it up to me! ;)

  27. Georgeous. i love the setting on the beach

  28. What gorgeous shots! It would be so relaxing (and romantic) to share this tablescape. I love this theme

  29. Beautiful and soooooooo romantic!!!

  30. I die drooling with your romantic settings. Nothing can beat the sun & those pretty treasures that coherent the surroundings.

All thumbs UP, yelled my 19 yr old daughter.

  31. Just beautiful, Jacqueline...makes me want summer to hurry and get here!

  32. How perfect are those shell dishes for a beach tablescape!!!! Even the inlaid shell napkin rings, WOW! This was just beautiful and gave me a little warmth from the beach sun!

  33. Oh, what an absolutely enviable setting...all around!!! You must love living in such close proximity to the beach! Love your plates and napkin rings...and those goblets!!! Bravo!

  34. Jackie...this is so perfect! It makes me wish we were still there, basking in that beautiful warmth and enjoying all the fabulous sights, smells, food and your special brand of hospitality! Thanks again for a wonderful trip!
My tan is going to peel.

  35. Jacqueline,

This is not real, is it?? LOL You NEED to write a book, my friend. You're one of the most talented person on the net.

    Have a great weekend!

  36. Your tablescape makes the beach look like the most romantic place ever.

  37. You were featured at Tablescape Times Three today! Following!
    -Andrea :)

  38. You have gone to a lot of trouble to create a delightfully unique setting on The beach at. Sunset. I hope the occasion was as romantic as it looks.

  39. I am so glad that I "wandered" backwards a little bit and caught this post. This is my idea of heaven...I love everything you've done. The dishes, the stemware, the flowers, the view...perfect.

When I do try to picnic on the beach, I end up with sand in everything...sweating...the wind blows everything away and the gulls are grabbing the food right out of my hand. For me, the idea always seems so much better than the reality.

  40. What a beautiful place, and a great tablesetting on the beach. How romantic!
    Blessings, Beth
