Ghostly White Cakes

Beaulah was so thrilled with the response
to her table that I set for her friends
that she wanted to share her dessert that
she whipped up to finish the meal.

Of course, she cheats a little (I say a lot) and uses magic
when she whips something up.  You may have to go the
more traditional route.

She wanted to stick with the color theme of black and
white and ghosts are the perfect choice.
These are candy and chocolate molds in a 3 dimentional
shape that you fill with melted white chocolate coating.
The local store that sold these went out of business,
but I found a similar one on line,
click here to see it if you are interested.
Make sure all surfaces are covered and there are
no air bubbles, turn upside down and
let drain, use a flat spatula to clean off the bottom
edge, then pop in the freezer or fridge until set.

We chose to fill these with cookie truffles
using Oreo Cookies and vanilla frosting.  This is
a variation of Bakerella's pops that I saw on

Finish by filling the mold to the top with more melted
white chocolate coating, use the spatula to scrape it
smooth, put in the freezer or fridge to let set.
Turn out on counter and clean up bottom edge
by cutting off any excess.
(You could do it Beaulah's way by using a little magic!)

Beaulah suggests making your favorite Devil's Food cake
(I think you can make your favorite chocolate cake),
and bake them as cupcakes.

While we were at it, we decided to whip up a cake
too.  There were just so many ghosts flying around the
kitchen, we needed to glue them down somewhere.

We frosted it with a white chocolate buttercream frosting.

Beaulah is just dying to share her creations on these fun blogs:

While we were all licking our fingers, Beaulah mentioned
that October is not just Halloween, but it is also
Breast Cancer Awareness month so she wanted
to whip something up in that classic pink that we
associate with Breast Cancer Awareness.

We thought - why not a cute pink ghost?  She was sure
little girl ghosts loved to dress up in pink.

Besides Beaulah told me that she thinks that the
wonderful ladies who participate in

are some of the nicest bloggers, they work really
hard to follow Beverly's suggestion to
welcome bloggers who are new to Pink Saturday
each week and leave comments.
Beaulah just loves comments. (Who am I
kidding, so do I!)

Remember to give generously to help eradicate cancers
of all kinds, but especially Breast Cancer.

Hope you are having as much fun this October
as we are at
Purple Chocolat Home.
We will also be posting at

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.
