Edward and Bella's Wedding Reception

I can't believe the long awaited wedding

of 

Isabella Swan

and

Edward Cullen

has finally arrived and we got an

invitation!

So elegant!  I love her choice of invitation

(even if Jacob didn't agree - what does he know anyway!)

The reception  is being held at the Cullen Mansion

and

the invitation says that

"All vampires, Werewolves and Humans

will be welcome."  

We are so excited to be a part of this big event!

The food looks fabulous.

I heard that the vampires don't really

eat anything so this wonderful spread

must be for the werewolves and humans.

I love it when they have pictures of the

couple scattered around the wedding

reception, don't you?  

And these two are such a lovely couple.

Ooh, colossal shrimp -

  definitely human food.

The Cullens sure know how to

treat their guests right.

Bella has such great taste,

I love the white roses on the

chocolate cake.  It's so unique

for a wedding.  Do you think she

was thinking of Edward with the white

roses and

 Jacob with the chocolate cake?

(Really girl, choose one!)

I would be happy to introduce you to

some of their friends that were invited.

Definitely our best Edward Cullen

and his wife Jessie

The four of us hosted the reception,

myself and my vampirish husband (yes we are the bad ones)

and The Cullen's owners of the mansion for

the evening.

More vampires and a human bride.

I think the vampires outnumber everyone 

tonight.  Bella's dad came with a date.

Some of the clergy dropped in with garlic and

crosses to ward off the vampires and here is

a human couple all decked out for the night 

(friends of the bride I assume.)

This member of the clergy brought his stake and a

little vampire with him.  Two of our lovely werewolves

are here.  Guess Jacob didn't want to come with them.

These must be the vampires from Seattle and

maybe I was mistaken, maybe this is Bella's father

or his brother and wife.  I can't see a sheriff's badge

on this one, so it must be his brother.

Some really ancient vampires and

 Dr. Cullen with

a vampire that he just turned - the family is growing.

Definitely Volturi on the left!

You know I didn't know that Forks had so many

churches, but everyone is welcome tonight.

Definitely scary vampires and a scary werewolf 

with a child! 

He looks like a juicy snack - healthy snack at least!

It was so fun to get together with all of these

lovely vampires.  The werewolves were pretty

stinky, but there weren't that many of them

here tonight and we don't have to breath

if we don't want to.

Oooh, Victoria and James!  Don't be fooled

by their smiling faces.  I thought they were

gone!  (You never know with fiction!)

Well, let's forget about them and get

on with cutting the cake.

Edward and Bella

(our only candidate for a bride)

won the prize 

(for being Edward and Bella) 

and got to cut the cake.

                                                                      How romantic is that?

One thing I love about a wedding is how it 

brings a diverse group together and everyone

tries to be on their best behavior.

The good, the bad and the ugly!

As we left they had little truffles. 

The sign said,

"Thank you for sharing this evening of joy with

us, please take a chocolate truffle home with you,

Edward and Bella."

I have to admit it was a little tacky that some of

the truffles had Edward's name on them

and some of them had JACOB'S!!!

Hope she doesn't tell Jacob about the honeymoon!

I have to tell you that one of the funniest things

about this party was that people thought it really

was a wedding invitation when they first received it!

(At the bottom we said, yes, this is a costume party!)

Vampire Cheesecake Featuring Edward Cullen

Ok,

you asked for one more Halloween post!

Happy Halloween today.

Somehow a nice vampire just went along

with Halloween AND the Twilight movie,

Breaking Dawn in November.

I saw this idea here

on Hungry Halloween.

The link to the stencil outline is given,

just print it off.

She used the stencil on tortillas.  I decided I

wanted something that would serve a crowd, and

a cheesecake for our family Halloween dinner 

sounded perfect.  

It took about 20 minutes to cut the stencil

with an x-acto knife, then I placed it on the

top of a cheesecake and dusted it with cocoa

placed in a sieve.  I had to carefully lift the stencil

and even cut a few pieces to prevent the cocoa from

getting all over the white parts of the cheesecake.

It was definitely a hit and perfect

for those who are Twilight fans and

are planning a party!

Beaulah was extremely upset that 

I was ready to put her in a box

and not even have her say goodbye!

Guess I left her out of the last post!!

So Happy Halloween

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Garden Accessories

In fashion and interior design you are never

complete

without your accessories.

So it goes with garden design.

I wanted to share with you a few of my

favorites

tucked throughout my garden.

Enter through my garden gate on the north side of our

yard.

We have a small lot. It measures only 80 x 100 feet, but we have a

view lot with nothing but a canal and mountains

behind us so it feels larger.

Whenever I am having a party I fill this wire basket

that I have wired to the gate with fresh flowers

to

welcome

my guests.

These were all picked this week, even with the

heat.  I try to trim the dead ones back and

that way I get roses all summer.

I introduced my garden on Summer Sundays

last week during twilight hours.

Here it is in the daytime showing the canal to

the right.  It is very narrow and we tried

several different backyard layouts over the years

 until we did this about 9 years ago.

My

 inspiration

 was a magazine picture that I had

cut out at least 10 years before that and found again.

It was a similar sized yard with a stucco home and

metal rail just like ours. 

We transformed it from

grass and a fish pond.

The grass didn't grow well and the neighbor's cat's

loved licking their chops after a tasty fresh fish

meal.

 We finally found something we loved.

My oldest daughter fell in love with it as we

changed it and said that it would make a great

place for a wedding reception.  She had her

reception there a year later!

The garden then inspired a total home remodel

about 3 years later turning it from contemporary

to Old World.

The gazebo at the north end holds a dining table.  It is

lit at night with a chandelier and rope

lighting which I featured last week.

The twilight photos were my first attempt at night lighting.

My friend Paula painted the back canvas and as it ages

it just becomes more authentic looking.

This is one of four pots that welcome you to my front door.

I love a profusion of flowers.  I buy them at

the local nursery and set them in my stone pots.

At the end of the season they are so easy to

dispose of, you just lift the inexpensive
peat or plastic pots out of the big
decorative pots and throw them away.

The pots create the Italianate feeling and add

height to the garden.

I love the details on the pots.

Of course the fountain is the centerpiece.  For my

daughter's wedding reception we had goldfish

swimming in it and flowers and candles

floating on it.

What Italianate garden is complete without palms?

We bring these two palms indoors during the winter.

They help to mask our hot tub and when I sit in

the hot tub and see the palms swaying, I

almost feel like I am on vacation.

We have beautiful glass candle lanterns everywhere.

These are Maxxinista finds.

Even little jeweled ones that I found in Frederickburg, Texas.

These were garden sculptures used to decorate one of my

husband's bath showrooms.  For once I was smart

enough to not throw something out!

These urns permanently top the columns.  We purchased

these from Bombay.  Oh, how I miss that store!

They have survived years of snow.

And every garden needs a bit of whimsy.  This is the

 Fairy Queen's castle.

Mother's Day last year was my gas fire pit.

And since I was raised with the importance of

growing fruits and vegetables, I tuck my vegetables

between the flowers.  This far end of the garden is

anchored by 3 trellises and has the biggest garden

space where I can grow pumpkins

and such.

The arbors also light up at night.

Because, if you don't grow produce like pumpkins,

what is going to happen when Cinderella needs one?

Last but not least are my bling bling garden shoes!

Who knew that they put bling on garden shoes.

But a girl needs those to go along with her bling bling

toenails!

(It keeps the garden dirt from showing under your nails.)
