Tales of the Traveling Tote 43 and a Giveaway

Welcome to our June 2025
edition of
Tales of the Traveling Tote.

Miss Madi K had the opportunity
to travel on the largest
cruise ship,
the Icon of the Seas.

Ever since the Icon of the Seas
came out I wanted to sail on her.

I had read many comments
online that were negative
about a ship this size,
but let me give my honest
review -
this was my favorite cruise
EVER!!!
Nothing ever felt crowded
even with over 6,000
passengers onboard.

Royal Caribbean has really
figured things out!

The food was amazing.
Besides fabulous food in
the main dining room,
they have complimentary
specialty quick service
places serving crepes,
Asian bowls, Mexican
food and one more with
four kinds of mac and cheese.

We sailed the Western Caribbean
and visited Roatan, Honduras
for the first time and snorkeled
to see lobster.  We took two
excursions to Mayan ruins.
I had never been to Chichen Itza
or Chacchoban.  Both were
amazing.

Where Royal Caribbean
really excels is on their
private island.  It was the
highlight of the tour.  I
wish I could have stayed there
for 7 days!!!

We splurged with our friends
and rented their over-the-water
cabana for the day.  It came
with our own butler who road
an electric bike, and all the
gourmet food you wanted.

We had lobster twice that
day!!!  So sad to leave.

Miss Madi K and I have
never been so spoiled.
I highly recommend the Icon.

Thanks for coming along
on our
Iconic adventure
of Tales of the Traveling Totes.

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  1. Oh, wow! Another amazing cruise, Jackie. I do think you win the travel award for our group. My musings about around town are not very exciting, so I love seeing where you have traveled. The photos are gorgeous and the collages are a perfect way to share. Thank you. Those conch shells are amazing. Are they going on display?
Happy June and happy travels, my friend.

  4. Fabulous adventures, Jackie! My daughter and her husband made a destination vacation in Utila, but stopped over in Roatan. They enjoyed scuba diving in Utila. Were you allowed to bring those conch shells with you?? The Royal island looks like just that - royal, with royal treatment! Lucky you! Happy June, my friend!

  5. The cruise looks lovely! I wonder if there is a hotel on the private island for guests not on the cruise. It looks so nice! The food looks delicious. I have been to Mexico, but never made it to any of the ruins. I think it would be fascinating. I hope you have a lovely summer!

  6. Amazing travel Jackie. I want to squeeze into your luggage and sail away with you. The Icon of The Sea didn't disappoint. How special everything looks. Being foodies, the food looks delicious. So many fun and exciting places to explore too. The cabana over the water sounds fabulous, especially with your own butler and lobster. You and Kirk always looks so cute. So glad you got away and enjoy yourselves. Happy June.
