Tales of the Traveling Tote #33 and A Giveaway

Welcome to our 33rd edition of
Tales of the Traveling Tote.  I joined
this wonderful group of MacKenzie-Child's

loving ladies in December of 2017.
My tote has traveled all over the
world, but today it returns
to the world that lives on a
snowflake - to Whoville!

Miss Madi K's first Tales of the
Traveling Tote was also to
Whoville, but things were
bigger and better this year.

She already has had two parties
and it is only December 1st.

We invited the Relief Society ladies,
our church group, over for a
party to make our hearts grow three
sizes this year.  Everyone brought
needed supplies for refugee families.
The supplies were dropped off in
the Grinch's sleigh out front and
we had so many that the sleigh and
porch were overflowing.

We had about 50 ladies come for dinner,
all Grinchy food of course.

Miss Madi K and I are so enchanted
with Whoville that we have decided
to make that our theme for our
Christmas Eve dinner, and we even
found some plates that The Grinch

We have lots of Dept. 56 villages, but
only some pieces have increased in
value and they are the Original
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
houses. This is Cindy Lou Who's House,

The Town Hall,

and Farfingles Department Store.  I had
purchased Cindy's house for all of my
kids years ago, so it was so cute when
my youngest son who is 28, said this
year that he would like to inherit the
Town Hall and Farfingles!

They are all displayed on my
Whoville kitchen counter.

Thanks for traveling to a place
that is special in our hearts,

Now for the giveaway,
which all Who's would love,

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  1. Jackie, you always impress us with your magical themes. Whoville is darling. Love the decor. How special to host a dinner for 50 ladies. Such a blessing to invite the Relief society. The grinch sleigh is so fun. Love the grinchy menu and your decor is over the top. How fun to be able to see it all in person.

  2. You are the most fabulous party host! This Grinch party would make any cold heart warm and grow. My baby J often has her hair up such that everyone calls her Cindy Lou Who. Your village is darling, and I love that the memories have made your son want to inherit more of your village. Your counter looks spectacular, and what a great turnout from your guests! Happy December, Jackie!

  3. Oh my goodness Jackie, lucky are those invited to your amazing parties. And, for such a wonderful cause. I am blown away with your gift for decorating, table settings and food presentations. I always know I will very much be inspired when I see a post arrive from you. Knowing you, you will have many more parties to go so have a very Happy December.

  4. I love visiting Whoville! I didn't think you could top Hogwarts, but this post is my fave! I know your kids and grands LOVE the decor! What a special dinner for an even more special cause. I love the menu, too: "roast beast" hahaha!!! My heart is full reading about you and your group's generosity. You are inspiring me to decorate because I haven't even started yet. I hope you have a blessed Advent and Christmas Season!

  5. You are certainly the "party planner extraordinaire" - 50 woman for dinner?? WOW....and that sleigh was filled with wonderful and thoughtful donations. Your collection of Grinch decor is amazing! I looks forward to seeing more holiday celebration photos this season and I wish you and your family a blessed season!

  6. Jackie, no one does a themed party better! I'm always in awe of your amazing parties, the decor, the food! You do it all with such ease and style. Entertaining 50 for a meal is awesome too. I know you were thrilled to see all the donations spilling out of the sleigh.

  7. Merry Grinchmas Jackie, please pass the Roast Beast! Hosting dinner for 50 ladies is fabulous. I'm always in awe of your themed parties and how you handle the decor and food offerings. Everyone loves a coordinated theme! That's great that were so many donations too. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas season.

  8. Oh Jackie, you are the ultimate hostess! Your parties are always beyond amazing, and this one is incredible!! I love all the Whoville things, I've never seen those Dept. 56 houses, they are incredible! I love your Grinchy menu and all the Grinchy props, decor and special touches, I know your guests were blown away! What a great cause and purpose for this party. I know you will have an amazing holiday with your beautiful family, I hope you'll share it with us~Happy December!
