Tales of the Traveling Tote #25 and A Giveaway

Welcome to our December version of
Tales of the Traveling Totes where we
MacKenzie-Childs loving women bring
you along to the many places our totes
travel with us.

Today Miss Madi K and I headed north to
visit the elves at
Gardner Village for Christmas in the Village.
Here we found lots of Santa's helpers at work.

We also found plenty of his helpers

just goofing around.

It was a cold but sunny day, a good day
for catching a sighting of the many elves.

This little one and her helper baking
gingerbread cookies was one of my favorites.

We also fell in love with this little guy up
on the ski lift.

Gardner Village is a quaint shopping and eating
experience centered on the Old Gardner Mill.
Historic homes and cabins have been moved
to the site and they house retail shops.

It is fun to just walk around the property, cross
a couple of wooden bridges and be on the
hunt for elves everywhere.  We enjoyed the magic
of Christmas in the Village.

We brought our own little Christmas helpers along.

My daughter was on the hunt for
Dept. 56 North Pole Village pieces.  Alas,
the shop that used to carry them is no longer
in business at Gardner Village.  We did a quick
search on the internet and we quickly
headed to another store and found plenty of
North Pole Elf Houses.

Haw's Floral is a magical spot that we had never
visited before and
Miss Madi K and I were especially drawn to
this fabulous table and display.

Even though the store was no longer in business,

we had fun seeing all of the elves, and we now

have a fabulous new Christmas store to enjoy.

You don't even have to leave home to have some
fun,  just visit Sarah and Miss Merri Mac
and leave a comment to win these fun
MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check party
plates, napkins and straws.

Also visit the rest of our tote
traveling group to see where they
have been off to lately.

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  1. What a fun trip! I wonder how the baby reacted to all the little people who seemed about his size. I see him giving that elf a side eye while you snapped the photo, hehe. And magically, Miss Madi K found what looked like her people, lol. I love the magic of Christmas.

  2. What a great trip, and a perfect time to get you in the Christmas spirit! I love that your daughter has the Dept. 56 North Pole Village. I have a collection as well, and always look forward to seeing the magic it creates when I set it up. This will be the first time our grandchildren will get to see it. Glad you and Miss Madi K are staying healthy.

  3. This looks like a fun adventure to get you in the holiday mood!! I used to have a Dept 56 village, but the pieces got too difficult to store - I love seeing them all set up, especially on a mantle! Enjoy this exciting month with your lovely family and happy travels (as short as they might be!!)

  4. What a fun spot to visit to get in the holiday spirit! I love seeing all the elves and their antics everywhere! That sweet baby had to be full of smiles and wonder! Dept 56 village pieces are always so cute, and irresistible! Love the photo of Miss Madi K and the MCK styled table! Happy December Jackie!

  5. Such a fun adventure. you always find the greatest place to have fun. Perfect for the holidays. The elves are precious. I love Dept 56. The little helps are darling. Miss Madi K looks fabulous with the Mackenzie Child's table. Happy holidays sweet friend.

  6. What a fun field trip! It has put me in the Christmas spirit for sure! I love all the fun little characters. Miss Madi K went camouflage there for a minute....I couldn't see her! LOL

  7. Jackie, I enjoyed tagging along on your little shopping excursion. I've not been to any stores other than the grocery and plant center. Glad you found another source. I always remember a fun school wide field trip when I was teaching. There was a lady near our school who set up her Villages all through her home. Our principal arranged for us to each take our classes ( 800 students) over and parade through her home to view the villages. I can imagine that is a favorite childhood memory for the children. What a generous lady!
    happy Holidays!

  8. Oh such a delightful trip to see all the elves. You had a beautiful day for walking and enjoying being out and about and wooden bridges sound so romantic. Good you were able to find a shop with the village. Love seeing the villages displayed at Christmas, so festive. Enjoy this Christmas season Jackie.........

  9. I miss being able to go to Gardner Village! I have only been to Utah once this year, and there were at least 4 trips planned. 2 kids graduated from BYU and there was no graduation celebration. Sad for them AND for me! Looks like you had a fun day, so glad she was able to find her pieces!
