Italian Cheese Bread

Another party, and I was in charge of the bread!
You know how there are some recipes that you have
loved in the past, but kind of forgotten about?

Well, this is some of the most delightful and savory
breads, and I had forgotten about it for a few years.

My daughter brought this recipe home from her
high school cooking class.  I am now great friends
with her former teacher, but after so many years
Lisa has even forgotten about some of the recipes
they made.

This is easy and goes together quickly and I couldn't
stop eating it - one of my weaknesses is home made
bread of any kind.

Italian Cheese Bread Recipe

1 T. quick rise yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1 C. warm water
1/2 T. Italian seasoning
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 C. flour

1/4 C. Balsamic or Italian Vinaigrette dressing
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
dash pepper

2 T. grated Parmesan cheese

Mix the yeast, sugar and water and let sit for
a few minutes, then in mixer with a dough hook,
combine it with the flour, salt and Italian seasoning.

Let knead for 5 minutes.  Cover and rise about 20 minutes.

Grease pan.  Punch dough down and shape into a
loaf with pointed ends.  Brush with vinaigrette, then
mix the seasonings together and sprinkle on the loaf.
Top with the cheese and let raise for about 20-30 minutes.

Heat oven to 375.  When raised, use a sharp knife to
make diagonal cuts across loaf.  Bake for about 30 minutes.

Let cool on pan.  Serve sliced.

This is so soft and has such a nice fine crumb.
The Italian seasoning inside is a variation of the
cooking teacher's recipe.  It really adds to the bread.

This is a great recipe that doesn't take long to make
and gets rave reviews.

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.
