Let It Snow - Pizza Oven Mantel

The pizza oven is all decked out for snow, snow, snow!
We have had a lot of snow this year.

This is a view of Mount Timpanogos from my backyard,

and Squaw Peak, also from my back yard.  Between the two
mountains runs Provo Canyon.

Last year up the canyon at Sundance Ski Resort,
the family was practically skiing on rocks.  This
year we have a record base of snow.  But it is perfect
because we have lots of snow up in the mountains,
but it has melted off the streets and sidewalks -
pretty typical Utah winter.

When we redecorated our kitchen and painted
all of the cabinets white this fall, we also painted
the pizza oven.  The white backdrop was perfect for
a wintery white decor theme.

The large rustic mantel and counter give me
lots of fun space for decorating year round.

The oven is a wood burning one from Mugnaini,
made and imported from Italy, but distributed
from California.  We use it almost weekly.
I will have to do another post some day
about our cooking class in Italy sponsored
by Mugnaini Ovens.

Here is a peek at it before in cream.  The white
just brightens up the kitchen so much, but we
kept the dark rustic elements.

I found this fun flour sifter at
Home Goods this year.  Now, let me get it straight
for you, I like snow from a distance - if I am
safe inside and warm - haha!  And living in a desert
state, we need the snow in the mountains for
our water supply all year, but you know me, I
am a summer girl.

Snowflakes, silver balls and crystals hang from a
snowy white garland.

I also picked up two darling snow girls this year
from Home Goods, so there is one on each side.

This was my prize from a White Elephant Contest this
year, which we adore because hubby has a saying
he started when the kids were little, "Fat pigs love to eat!",
and we do!  So we have several pigs in our kitchen decor.

There are always a few nutcrackers that
stay around the house past and since
Minnie as Leia was all in white, she got
to join the wintery decor because of his saying.

This snowy Santa also is up on the mantel.

This huge tin serving tray is the centerpiece
of the pizza oven decor and it has been up since
we redecorated.  I can't wait to use it for some kind
of cheese, meat, chocolate or dessert board.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  We love having you.

I will be posting this with

Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  1. You will have to give me some tips on cooking in a pizza oven Jackie! We just finished ours, and can't wait to start experimenting! Snow is in our forecast tonight and it is not welcome in Alabama! I'm with you though, as long as I am home and safe {my family too} and we have power, it can be fun! Your pizza oven mantel is the perfect place for seasonal decorating, your wintery scene is perfect! The snowy mountain is gorgeous!

  3. Love reading about your prized pizza oven. The new look is lovely. So glad you kept some of the darker elements. Lots of snow there, but it was needed. Love how you decorated your mantel. The snow girls are so cute and of course those darling pigs. Stay warm and cozy.

  4. We started out slow with snow in January, and then it really picked up and a LOT is in our forecast today. As long as everyone is safe and we can ski, it can be fun! Your pizza oven mantel would be my favorite place to decorate! That snowy mountain is stunning.

  6. LOL, we were expecting and under a winter storm warning. The forecast was a bust, not a snowflake in sight. Well maybe next year. Like you when we do have snow I want it to melt so we aren't housebound (no driving in snow in the south). I just love your pizza oven and how you've decorated it with a winter white theme. What a delightful kitchen. You amaze me with all you do Jackie! Have a great day........
