A Mother' Day Celebration in Chocolate

What better way to celebrate
Mother's Day than her most
feminine possessions made out of chocolate.

Our table, celebrating mothers everywhere,
features beautiful chocolate shoes, pretty in
pink, purple and chocolate,
are set on top of pink and white dishes.

My mother loved her high heels and she taught
me to love them too, so our table features
beautiful chocolate heels that my son brought
back from Canada for me a couple of years ago.

She has been gone for 25 years now but I am
still influenced by the things that she loved.

Our Mother's Day table also features a
fabulous cheetah print chocolate purse, that
came from Home Goods.  When I saw it, I knew that
it would be perfect with my shoes.

These are all too pretty to eat, but so fun to look at!

When my son first saw these, he knew I would
love them, and he picked them all out for me.
This fabulous purple one is just stunning with
its silver floral trim.

The table is with Kirk/Steiff
Maryland Engraved sterling that
my parents gave me as a wedding present.

A rosette tablecloth in white is the background
for the tablescape for Mother's Day.

I nestled the dinner fork with the napkin
inside a beaded napkin ring.

Mother wore high heels until the day she
died.  I know she would have loved blogging,
and she would have been fascinated by these shoes.

She loved beautiful dishes, and I believe she would
have thought tablescaping was a lot of fun, as she
was quite artistic and loved dishes.  I remember
shopping with her once at a beautiful home decor
place and she commented that she would love
to have all of the beautiful dishes.

How about this polka dot shoe?
My son definitely found me some treasures.

Pretty pink goblets finish out the placesetting.
These are new this year from Pier 1.

Mother loved roses too, and although it
is too early for the roses from my garden,
these script roses are lovely for the
centerpiece of the table.

To all  mothers -
Have a wonderful Mother's Day.

Remember your mother this week,
whether she is still around or not,
she is a great influence in your life.

I will be posting with

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  8. What a bright, beautiful, welcoming place to come to whilst I'm immersed in the chaos and debris of tearing-out-the-old-kitchen and installing the new.

Thank you for this intense loveliness, this sweet remembrance, this place of comfort and charm, as I wade around boxes and lugs and the sheer MESS of construction. It's promised to be done before the last week of MAY, and I'll look forward to visiting you for some fresh air and BEAUTIFUL until . . .
