Love Rules

Hubby and I are teaching a
Marriage and Family Relations class
to young single adults and I took a
canvas wall hanging that I had purchased
and adapted it and printed one
out for each of the attendees.  Then
we went through each point and had
a discussion on the point.

We will be celebrating 36 years of marriage
next month and feel very blessed to have had
this number of years together.  As I said to
the young adults, we have lots of funny stories
about things we did wrong, and everyone
will have their own funny stories.  The point is
to work it out, communicate together and laugh
about it together.  Working at marriage will
be the greatest work they do, but it does take
work and care over all of the years.

Feel free to save this image and
print it and share it.  It would be really
nice printed on canvas too.

I am going to frame one for each
of my children to have in their homes.

I will be posting this with

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  2. Hello greetings and good wishes.

Congratulations on nearing thirty six years of marriage. This is a great achievement considering that too many marriages break up for silly reasons.

It will be a good idea to give a print out of your advice to all newly married couples.

Many points you have listed are worth reading and rereading many times.

    Best wishes

  3. I love this. Will print it!
    Thank you for sharing,
    Teresa

PS - I find so important that the inspiration comes from people who have a proven recipe but also that are happy, centered and ready to fight for each and every one of these points. I'm a Catholic and sometimes these classes are imparted by people you feel you don't want to be inspired by... I believe the advice tend to be lost this way and what a loss in the end for humanity and Catholics.

  4. Lovely words, and how wonderful to share your happiness with young adults in your community...The decline of the American family is so worrisome, I admire what you and your husband are giving to the future generations~
