Southwest Sliders & My First Giveaway

We are still celebrating!  I hit 100 Followers
and it is quickly on its way to 200.
I have a great giveaway and may have to make that
two of them if we reach 200.

Let's have a summer BBQ as part of the celebration.

These little darlings are called sliders.  They slide right down
and you reach for another.

I really love gourmet food, so some of my friends
really can't believe I could like hamburgers,
but believe me I do.

A couple of years ago I was craving them -
must be middle age.
I couldn't get enough.

There are so many great recipes for hamburgers
out there but this is one of our favs.

I know I got it out of a magazine but it was so many
years ago and I have no idea which one it would
be.

My nieces and nephews call these Jackie's Burgers.

They start with all of these great mix-ins.
Salsa
Tortilla chips
Green onions
Cumin
and
Cheese

We don't always make them as sliders
but I found this fun slider press at
Bed Bath and Beyond

and we really enjoy using it.

It makes for such a fun size.

We just form them in the press, but you can cook them in it
too.

We throw them on the grill.  They just take minutes

Then put them in small dinner rolls.

Or do like I usually do and eat them plain without bun
or sauces.

These are so good that you don't need anything with them.

Southwest Burger Recipe
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 C. salsa
1/4 C. crushed tortilla chips
3/4 C. grated cheddar cheese
1/4 C. chopped green onion
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic salt

Mix everything together by hand and
then form into desired sized burger patties.
If making slider sized, it is helpful to pop in the
freezer for 15 minutes to help them stay together.

I still have some in the freezer, maybe I will go
grill a couple up right now.

Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  9. I have the same slider maker. If you line it with saran wrap and then put a sheet on the top, it is much easier , AND easy clean up.
I love hamburgers too, no food snob here.
I'll make you something fancy, but I never turn a good burger down.
Give away looks great! Maybe I will be lucky! Thanks for letting me know!
