Do you remember when I had a luncheon and
I taught my guests how to do the ombre rose cake
and then we ate it for dessert?
(Follow the link above for the tutorial.)
Well, they had such a fun time taking turns trying
to frost the cake that they have gone home and
made their own. The gorgeous lavender one
above was made by Barb for her daughter's
birthday.
This stunning yellow one was made by Breta
for one of the kiddie's birthdays.
Annette and her girls made one just like this one of
mine in pink and sent me a photo of it.
Isn't it fun that we can take a photo with our
phones and send them right out to our friends.
I am so proud of all of them and this is
making me crave a slice of cake!
It is really fun to get together and try to
learn something new. Give it a try
with friends or family.
Sounds like so much fun....Would love to do this. Have you ever posted a lesson of how to make these cute roses on your blog? Gorgeous cakes.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Jacqueline, How fabulous that your girlfriends made their own version of your gorgeous cake.
ReplyDeleteI am going to give this a try. I have never piped icing before so this will be fun. I think I will practice first and then make a cake for my mother, Phyllis, as a welcoming cake when she comes to visit. I shall let you know how I get on.
Best Wishes
Daphne
I just watched your Chanel 5 video of Pizza Factory Breadsticks making. You are truly generous to share your tricks and lead us to believe it is THAT easy ahahahah
ReplyDeleteYou should have a program of your own. I'd follow and be a fan, that's for certain.
Now, this cake is an entirely different matter and I imagine lots of attention and firm hand are needed. They look so beautiful, though. Oh, one day who knows...
Thank you for sharing your friends and your works of Art. You're all to be Congratulated!
Yours,
Teresa
Jacqueline, you always make us feel this stunning cake decor it's so easy!! Gosh, I'm ok with a 'little' decor, but not like this, the excellent type like you and you are a great teacher too!! The cakes are all gorgeous in every color! Big hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
You're inspiring..that's why:)
ReplyDeleteI love this cake and the colors are so gorgeous. I would love to make one. Do you have a tutorial online?? xo
ReplyDeleteI still like the purple one the best!
ReplyDeleteThe only workshops I share with friends is making greeting cards.
Judith
All of the cakes are beautiful and just to be fair, I'll try a slice of each please:@)
ReplyDeleteYes, follow the link under the first photo for the tutorial. It really is easier than you think. The cake layers show you where to put the rows of roses and if you hate the rose, just scrape it off with a knife and do another one. Once the whole cake is done you don't notice the imperfections as much.
ReplyDeleteI am speechless! Jacqueline, these cakes are breathtaking! I wish I could do this. They are sure to dazzle anyone who sees them! And they look delicious inside, too.
ReplyDeleteI'll have a slice, please... or maybe two! ;-)
XO,
Sheila
They are gorgeous! I doubt that I could ever create something that lovely. It would best if I could just live next door to one of your friends.
ReplyDeleteWELL BONJOUR!
ReplyDeleteJacqueline, I am so happy to see you! I hope you have been having a wonderful year and new spring! These cakes are absolutely lovely, and the rest of your kitchen and the goodies coming from it are super.
I am also thrilled to see you want to participate in the FRANCE party! I will put your name down on my list NOW. Please visit weekly to keep updated until the day of the event. BONNE JOURNÉE! Anita
Hi Jacqueline,
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make this cake ever since your first post of it! I think it would be perfect for a bridal shower or Mother's Day! Maybe I will try. I used to help my Mom with her cake decorating when I was a kid, but I haven't tried since then. All the colors on these cakes are just gorgeous! Linda
Jacqueline, you inspire all of us.
ReplyDeleteMy husband said that in med school the motto was "See one, do one, teach one." That's apparently the same motto in your kitchen!!! All of the cakes turned out so pretty!!! I am inspired to try it myself next time I bake a cake! No more slacking off by slappin' some frosting on there and callin' it a day! :-)
ReplyDeleteJacqueline,
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! I have not made an obre cake yet, Joslyn made a 7 layer rainbow cake, the frosting was all white on the outside, next time I'll have her try the frosting tint as well!
It was good to see you this last weekend! The "fairy garden" has got my mind going like crazy...It only I could just DO what I think about...It's aways so wonderful in my mind!
You make things happen at your house, and that is what I hope to accompllish!
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh my, how beautiful each and everyone of those cakes. I want to learn this! I will be checking out your tutorial. Yes, I do remember your ladies luncheon and you teaching them how to create this gorgeous cake. So many possibilities. Kudos, my friend. What's going on with Joni? I would like to finish her blog and get it installed.
ReplyDeleteI'm about convinced that if all these people can do this, so can I! I just need the right occasion. The lavender is very pretty isn't it? I would really like that piece of cake right now (she says as she eats an Asian Pear instead)!
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful, Jacqueline! Everyone must have have so much fun.
ReplyDeleteDIY tutorial Jacqueline!
ReplyDeleteThat is ALL you need to do right now! ; )!!!
hugs,
Betsy
