Jacqueline
Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

Words to Eat By
"Though never a very good dieter, she'd found a rule of thumb that kept her from blimping out as her metabolism aged - eat what you want, but not all of it. So if she wanted cheesecake, she made cheesecake, had a slice, and took the rest to a friend or someone in her church who needed a pick-me-up."

ReplyDeleteYes, we have been so crazy busy that blogging was the last thing I could fit in! I have missed it though!
DeleteEeekkk!!!! Your phone is resting on the bottom of a lake??!!?!? That would be frightening! I know my phone is like an appendage!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the party of all parties, the envy of every little girl! Your cake baking and decorating skills have been a pleasure to watch evolve over the years. The unicorn 🦄 Idea is so cute, and how you pulled it off with such a huge event on the horizon...nothing short of miraculous!
Alycia, I can still see it floating to the bottom. There was only 12 inches or less between the boat and the dock and no way to grab it!

So, so darling! I know the birthday girl was thrilled with such a fabulous party -- and that cake! Amazing attention to detail!
ReplyDeleteI left before they served it so I had to request they save me a piece!

Sometimes life just gets that way! I hope I can recover some pictures from those I sent to family and friends! Yikes!
DeleteCrazy busy, but we made it through the wedding and all was wonderful.
How lovely to have you back, and what a charming party for your namesake! All the pastels and swoops and swirls and ingenious ideas for the decor---so YOU in the inspiration, the creation, and the execution of every detail.
ReplyDeleteI've MISSED your lively, colourful posts, and have a dolor for all the photos of the brilliant occasions and creations lost in the camera. (says I, still having my own gentle pout at the loss of that wonderful FROZEN party I patterned after your own, and worked on for weeks, as the pictures just shispered away betwixt phone camera and computer storage, never to be again).
Congratulations on your HAPPY event, and looking forward to all the splendor of the festivities!! Very best blessings to the Happy Couple, as well.

Yeah, the wedding is complete and I am still somewhat sane, although last night I couldn't remember names as I introduced people!
DeleteSo sorry to hear that you lost your Frozen photos too! Just makes you sick doesn't it!??
How precious and so fun for your namesake. She is a cutie. The party is fantastic, from the darling cake, cute favor bags and unicorn bark. So colorful and fun and the best part was making Jaclyn so very happy. Looking forward to see your future posts. So sorry about your phone, that must be so frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI just need to slow down my life! I told hubby next summer no taking everyone he thinks of to Lake Powell. I need down time!

ReplyDeleteThank you! I just love magic for little kids! Hope some day they remember it! Haha! That is why I make little journal pages for them - so they remember a few things Grandma did for them!

ReplyDeleteThis has to be the cutest birthday theme I have seen in years. I love that beautiful cake...you are such a talented grandmother.
That was such a fun party. We were glad we were able to see it. Talley says, and she is serious, that she wants a unicorn party too. Tati also. It appeals to everyone! Such great fun, and so creative. The cake was amazing as were all the details.
