Indoor S'mores Bar

Making s'mores around the fire is a favorite
summertime activity around here, but with an
indoor S'mores Bar you can enjoy those puffy,
crispy, chocolatey treats year round.

I happened on this 4 1/2 foot tin container while
treasure hunting at Home Goods this summer, and
I immediately knew it could be used for all kinds
of party items - a huge vegetable tray, a fun salad, and
of course, a s'mores bar.  It was positioned on top
of a small oblong table.

I went looking for the flat S'mores Marshmallows,
but wasn't sure what I would find at this time of year.
A trip to Wal Mart left me very happy, as I found the flat
ones I was looking for, plus these flat chocolate striped
ones and you can see in the background some round
maple flavored ones.

These are the S'mores Marshmallows, and they
were the favorite choice.  They work better than a
round marshmallow for making your sandwich.

We offered several kinds of candy bars, and
regular graham crackers plus cinnamon graham
crackers, Fudge Striped Cookies and Peppermint
Oreos.  There were flavor options for everyone.

The Sterno cans were surrounded by pebble glass, but
you could use rocks.
Sterno is safe for indoor use.

We used bamboo skewers for the
toasting.

Of course, an adult needs to stand close by when
the children are toasting their marshmallows.
Even the adults have a tendency to catch their
marshmallows on fire.

My 4 year old caught his on fire, as people
often do, and he yelled, "We have a fire here!"  We
had a parent on each end ready to blow out
flaming marshmallows.

You could use any container.  Just look ideas up
on Pinterest.  There are lots of creative containers
and ideas.

We had a great time and the kids were asking
to do it again.  Definitely going to use it for an
adult party too.

Glad you stopped by to see a little of our
family fun.

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

    1. It was actually very entertaining watching them. Of course, as I said, the adults caught a few on fire too.
