Black As Night Brew

There is nothing quite as exciting as a bubbling brew
for Halloween Night or for any party for the little ones.

We know our goblins - young and old love dry ice.  Beaulah gets
a big kick out of dry ice too.  She would like me to let her
bubble and brew.

This easy punch just oozes with fun as it creeps up
and out of our Poison jar.

We bought our Poison punch jug at Smith's grocery store
in town, but you could sure make one using a Cricut machine.
(I JUST GOT ONE - FINALLY - BUT WAITING WAS GREAT
BECAUSE I GOT THE CRICUT EXPLORE AIR AND I DON'T
HAVE TO BUY THEIR CARTRIDGES!  WOO HOO!!)

But back to the punch - don't you just love it crawling down
the sides of the jar?  Don't ever add dry ice to a jar with a closed
lid - it can explode.  So ---- I put some stick on pads or rubber bumpers
around the lip of the jar to hold the lid up and off the jar as I wanted
to look with the lid on.

You can see little bits of dry ice dancing around in their
Poison brew.

We just added orange and purple food coloring to
root beer to get a dark color.  Of course, our favorite is homemade rootbeer,
which makes a five gallon batch, but you could cut it in fifths to make a gallon
of it.

Homemade Rootbeer
(Regular 5 gallon rootbeer recipe cut in fifths for a one gallon container.)

1 lb sugar
1 gallon water
1/5th of a bottle of rootbeer extract
1-2 lb dry ice
Orange and Purple food coloring

Mix the sugar and water together.  Add the rootbeer extract.
Add 1 lb dry ice to make it carbonated.  Add purple food
coloring to get a darker color for your brew.  Wait until the bubbling
stops, then add additional dry ice for serving.  You get most of
the smoking action right at the beginning.  Add it and watch
the kids eyes.  Everyone loves it.

Substitute bottled rootbeer if desired.

Brew up a little fun for Halloween!

Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.
