High Heel Love - High Heel Cupcakes

No, you aren't looking at a shoe store display,
you are looking at cupcakes that are stepping out in style!

I definitely love high heels and feel like a beautiful
high heel is like a piece of art and
each of these fun cupcakes is a piece of
art too.

While we are waiting around for wedding pictures,
I had a fun afternoon with my oldest daughter
making these darling cupcake shoes
that you may have seen in

The variations are endless and everyone wants to touch
them and taste them.

On this pair I actually used a big of bling left from the wedding
reception.  Obviously, this bit of decor is non-edible but
the rest of the cupcakes are all edible.

We had all kinds of fun trying out different
colors and creating unique shoe styles with
frosting, sanding sugars, chocolate clay and
candies.

Each pair is designed one at a time.  You start by
frosting the cupcakes.  I piped it on and then spread it out.

Then the
cupcakes are dipped in a bowl of sanding sugars.

Place the frosted cupcake in the fridge for about
15 minutes to let the frosting harden, then
cut a small slit off the back of the cupcake where
you will place the sole.

That small slit is filled with frosting to make the sole
stick to the cupcake.

The sole is a square of graham cracker that has
been cut with a short end about 3/4 inch wide
and tapering out to the other end of the cracker.  Dip the
crackers in melted candy melts which have been
dipped and placed on a parchment paper until dry.

Pipe frosting around the edge of the sole and dip it in
matching sanding sugar.

Cut 2 pieces of Pirouline cookies about 2 1/4 inches
with one end flat and the other at a 45 degree angle.
Melt some white candy melts to stick these stilettos
onto the soles of the high heels.

So the steps are
1. frost the cupcakes
2. chill then slice a small piece off back of cupcake
3.  fill the back with frosting to make the sole stick
4. take a prepared sole and pipe it with frosting and
dip it in matching sugar
5.  place the sole into the back of the shoe
6.  meanwhile dip the angled end of the
Pirouline cookie into candy melt and
attach the stiletto heel
7. attach any decor

To make an open toe shoe just slice out a small round
and pipe frosting around the edge.
Bows are made with a stick of gum.  Heat
them in the microwave about 6 seconds to
soften if necessary.

The decor on these were made from white chocolate clay.

The Hello Cupcake cookbook
has much better instructions.
This was just such a fun project.
They are for
Baby Jacquelyn's First Birthday Party!

Our June Bride

Well our lovely daughter is married!  I am
sneaking a moment or two away from
all the family festivities to share her
bridals/groomals with you
now that everything is official.

We had the pictures taken at
La Caille Restaurant's grounds
that I have posted on before.

You can't imagine a more beautiful
and varied setting.  It was exquisite.

There are wonderful places for
pictures both inside and outside.

She has a Paris theme for the reception
tomorrow night and so we just had to
take this photo.

They will be driving away in my convertible
so we brought that to the shoot also.

I have never seen her look so happy and so beautiful.

It was just so fun shooting them together
and as I said before we blindfolded him
so that we got a photo of his first reaction
to the dress.  This fabulous couch was
one my friend bought and then couldn't
get through her bedroom door.  I
"just had to" buy it from her.
Actually she had purchased it for 20% off
so it was a good deal.

Hubby says to tell you that if you are in the area
Thursday, June 20th, drop by at the reception,
he is sure we will have plenty of food!!

This has to be my very favorite photo.  His mother
took this one.
Thanks for stopping by to share in our
joy!

Final Sailing for Pirate's Cove Tablescapes

Alright, we be stickin' to the Pirate's Code on this
table.

This be the last one of three weeks of fun.

Before we gets to the table though
I be sharin' this gas fired pizza oven
that is at Pirate's Cove.

Ye have all seen me wood burnin' one
but this here one was plenty fun too.

Fire her up and in an hour ye be crankin'
out hot crusty pizzas.  Ye think we could
put one on the ship Captain?

Speakin' of the Captain, he heads up this
cozy table fer four,
and yes, ye be seein' right.  We used the
same plates.  None of the other plates here
at Pirate's Cove met the Captain's approval,
these bein' so appropriate and all.

and since the Captain be reignin' over this table
we hung a beeyoutiful chandelier
in his honor.

Fancy ruffled placemats sit under our
metallic skull and bones dishes that ye
saw before.

We wandered the high seas to get these
beeyoutiful goblets ye will be drinkin'
from tonight.  We be lovin' the dark green -
straight off one of her Majesty's ships, I reckon.

Or ye can be drinkin' from your little silver
mugs if that be yer fancy.

Ye think that fancy gun marks the
Captain's spot?

He says, "Don't ye be eyein' my place matey!"

Notice in the background a keg built into the
wall?  Well, that there is a secret passageway.
(Just thought ye'd like to be in on that one!)

More fancy flatware.  This is a true Pirate's hoard
of fancy silver.  Must be booty from ships
they looted.

Ooh, the wenches be gettin' fancy with the napkins these days.

Thought ye'd like a peek at the carved chairs at this
table.

There be so much fancy stuff here, ye just can't imagine!

'A course this mate loved the chandelier the best.
Them purple and red jewels are mighty fine.

Ye think the Captain might notice if some of them
jewels went amissin'?

Yup, guess he would and I'd be walkin' the plank.

(Just havin' a little fun with my new Canon G15 - love the bokeh effect.)

Well, I guess I'd best be movin' on before the real
Captain shows up and wonders why I'm in his quarters.

Fearsome lot those pirates!

But fer all the fun talk of Pirates
cute Captain Kirk
(yes, that be his real name)
declared
"The Family Life For Me!!!!)

Ye seen this motley crew last time,

but here be one legged Ty and his crew,

and this scabby bloke, Marco Polo,

and the two that been stirrin' up all the fuss
lately with weddin' plans.

Next week is the big day, along with our
youngest settin' sail for an LDS mission to
SeoulKorea

so this wench be sayin' good bye for a bit to
focus on her scurvy lot to see if they can
whip up a bit of weddin' and missionary fun!

but before I sail off, here was the feast for
our 34th anniversary, made for us by friends.
We feasted on grilled tri-tip,
tortellini salad
and funeral potatoes

and it was topped off by some of the thickest,
most delicious brownies ever.

(Yes, we asked all the guests to bring Pirate
outfits for the anniversary night.  It was the
greatest 34th anniversary I have ever had!!!!
If you missed it, click on the link above.)

Aye aye until some of the ruckus
settles down around here.

I will be posting this with
