Harvest Grapes Tablescape

Welcome to Purple Chocolat Home for my
harvest tablescape. Come and enjoy
nature's bounty in my favorite color
PURPLE!

The whole time I was setting this table in the garden
I was thinking of calling it my
Grapes of Wrath Tablescape
because I had decided to pull out the grapes.
I have extremely limited space

and these
grapes took over last year (first year)
and didn't produce anything but beautiful
vines for the grapevine wreaths I made
last fall
and that are featured again on this table.

But then I saw these gorgeous clusters
of grapes and decided I might be keeping these
grapes if they were willing to produce such lovely
fruit.  (Last year the fruit was pathetic and the
birds ate what little there was.)

As soon as I saw these clusters, I knew I wanted to do a
tablescape with the grapes as the star.

I dug out some pretty salad plates that I had
with appropriately colored fruit on them

and stacked them on top of my ruffled purple plates
surrounded by my homemade grapevine wreaths

and finished it off with my delicately carved
grapevine silverplate goblets.  I was stunned
by the colors of purple and green grapes with the
purple tablecloth and the green of the natural
grapeleaves.  It was truly inspiring and I decided
I might not yank out those wildly growing
grapevines after all!
(No more wrath!)

This table was set up in the backyard gazebo with the
handpainted canvas that my friend Paula did 10 years ago.
It is always a great spot for entertaining or just hiding away.

The lavender tablecloth was the perfect backdrop for
all of the deeper purples.  I stole the artificial
grape arrangement out of my half bath and used it
for the centerpiece along with fresh grapevine and
leaves and additional clusters of purple and green grapes.

Digging through my drawer that contains all of my
napkin rings, I thought these rich purple beaded ones
were the perfect choice.

The grapes were so fun to photograph.

Here's another shot of the artificial arrangement.
The colors couldn't be a more perfect match.

The backyard is really starting to look a little ratty
and this gloriously colored table reallly made
it pretty.

I love the reflection of the grapes in the bowl of the
stemware.

So now I need to gather the rest of the grapes
and I think I will make grapejuice with them.
The combination of grapes always makes a
nicely flavored juice.

I hope you enjoyed my fun playing with nature's
bounty today.

It is nice that nature included
a little purple in fall!

I will close with a couple of shots of
my small but wonderful garden at night.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting.  It
is a pleasure to host this fun table for you.

  24. This has to be one of the prettiest tables you've ever done, Jacqueline & it is sooooo YOU!!

Gorgeous setting & wonderfully chosen pieces to bring it all together.

I'd be making grape JAM with those grapes. My parents & grandparents had grape arbors & we always had homemade 'grape walnut jam' in the house. Yum!

The grapes you produced look so different than the ones in plastic bags at the grocery, yours look so healthy and bursting with flavor.
