Mother's High Heels Done in Chocolate

Mother loved high heels,
I love high heels,
my daughters love high heels,
my daughters-in-law love high heels,
and my granddaughters love high heels

so high heels are the showstopper on this
Mother's Day Table
only they are in
Chocolate!

Yes, these are solid chocolate high heels.
They are amazing in their colors and details.

My sweet son Tyson saw these while traveling for
his job and knew that his mother would adore them.
He took pictures with his phone to help me decide
which ones I wanted.  I started with two but had to
add two more.

They come packaged like this in a darling "purse"
which I decided also needed a place on the table -

so I filled the empty purse with some of my double
tulip blossoms for the center of the table.

Fresh roses also say Mother's Day to me and these
were a gift from friends so I had to include them in
the center of the table.

I had found two of these adorable super-mini
cake stands a while ago so this pink one showcases
a pretty pink rose and a Kiss.

This beautiful pink with brown accents and
a dark chocolate butterfly sits beautifully on the
pink and white stack of plates.

How could I pick a favorite chocolate shoe,
but this iridescent cream shoe with the purple
jewel is just amazing.

See how exquisite it is?

The purple with silver flower is also iridescent.
Just lovely!

But there is something about this milk chocolate
with pink polka dots and a sugary pink jewel too.

Even my son was awed by the detail and variety of shoes.
He had such a hard time deciding.

He found these in the Detroit airport of all places.

There were even a couple of lavender blooms in the
roses.  I love this view looking down over the
roses.

Don't you wish a bouquet of fresh roses lasted longer?

The plate stack perfectly matches the colors
of the roses.

A crystal flower for a napkin ring goes around a pink
satiny napkin.

I paired my bubble goblets with my grandmother's
depression glassware.  I just love pink glasses.

No, we won't be eating these chocolate shoes - at least not
right away.  They are too wonderful.

I had bought a 3D chocolate mold for a high heel
and tried making it a while back, but mine didn't turn
out anything like these.

The truth is that this won't be our Mother's Day table either.
I get spoiled on Mother's Day and the food, table and
dishes are done by my sweetheart and the children.
This year with three married children my suggestion is that
the men each make a dish and spoil all of the mothers.

I always love Mother's Day.
I feel like it is a tiny bit
of payback for all of the other days of the year and
all mothers deserve to be spoiled a little.

Part of the Mother's Day tradition
in our ward - our local church unit - is to
have the graduating seniors each speak on Mother's Day
for a few minutes to honor their mothers.  I have my
baby graduating this year and so I will have that great
priviledge to hear him speak.  It is always one of the best
Sacrament Meetings of the year as they express the things
their mothers have taught them and the love they have for
each of their mothers.  I will definitely feel spoiled.

Hope you get spoiled this year.

I will be posting this with

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  2. Donna, they are almost life size - I guess they are life size if you are a size 5 or 5 1/2 and they are heavy too. Love the idea of taking a photo of each and saving it.
