Hubby Gets Into Blogging - Red Velvet Pancakes For Sunday Breakfast

Is your husband supportive of your blogging
or does he tease you some about it?  I have
to admit that my husband does a little of both
so last Sunday morning when he said he was
"blogging", I kind of ignored him.

Then he brought over his camera and showed
me the step by step pictures he had taken of
his Red Velvet Pancakes.

I have to admit I was impressed!  The only
picture I just couldn't show you was the batter
in the bowl, it was too blurry, (but hey, he has
the idea down!)

For his birthday, his sister in Seattle
sent him a food package.  Everyone knows
we love food and it is fun to get gift baskets
full of food.  This package of
 Red Velvet Pancake Mix
was included.

He decided he was going to try them.

My husband is great at breakfast foods.
He is our breakfast specialist.  So, of
course he had to doctor them up a bit.

He added some white chocolate chips
to the batter.

He even gave you a picture of the
finished pancake, unadorned.

They all were topped with whipped cream,
but some received chopped pecans (as in
the first photo) and this one received chocolate
chips.

He called his sister Vicki telling her how much
he enjoyed them, even mentioning how he thought
they would just be red pancakes, but he thought
they were very moist and delicious.

Move over Jacqueline!

All photos were taken by Kirk or as we like to call him,
Captain Kirk.
If your husband wants in on the action,
do a post on it and let me know about
when you post it!

I will be posting this with
On The Menu Monday

Chocolat - French for Chocolate. I adored chocolate from a young age when I had to sneak in the cupboard to find where my mother had hidden the Nestle's Chocolate Chips. Having read about the famous chocolat shoppes in Paris, when I finally got there I was determined to try a chocolate from every Paris shoppe. I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  12. I just went in the bedroom and loudly complained to my husband that "all the OTHER husbands are chiming in on the blogging!!!" after reading Babs from Upstairs Downstairs blog. He looked at me like I've gone completely bonkers, turned over and went back to sleep. He said he "wants proof" that the other husbands are contributing. YOU, my dear, have just provided that proof! Thank you! He can't find his way off the hook now!!! I will admit that he posted the photos I had taken once earlier this year when I was sick, but he needs to step up his game. It is SO ON now!!! :-)

  14. Oooh,I do love red velvet cake and those pancakes sound like they are right up my alley! How cute that your husband wanted to do a blog post! My hubby enjoys looking at my blog, and my tables and other things that I put together...he always loves to see projects that I do, but I think for him, as a musician, his creative outlet is music and not blogging!!

My hubby totally supports my blogging, it took over reading and then he had a harder time talking to me! lol!

  17. Too funny! Those pancakes look yummy, what a great family you have.. always trying out new things together. My husband actually started a political blog last winter called Paddling Fast but bless his heart, no readers. I told him that politics were just too controversial! He reads most of my drivel... he's my biggest fan!

  18. ~clap~clap~clap~ That is a *standing ovation* for your sweet hubby, who COOKS for you!!! My next husband better to that or he's toast! LOL JK

I'm impressed that he remembered to take photos along the way. I barely remember to capture the final product before someone digs in.

Hugs & Happy T'day to you & yours,
    Rett

  19. My husband is very supportive of my 'hobby' but somehow, I doubt if he will ever take a camera to his very limited cooking interests.

Kudos to your husband and I hope to see more 'posts' from him ;) His red velvet pancakes really look good!

  20. Yes Capt. Kirk dies the dishes too! The rule is if you cook you don't do the dishes so generally he does them.

I read all of your comments to him and he laughed and laughed. He says he got so many comments because it was Red Velvet!

  21. Hi Jacqueline
I don't know about red pancakes...
My husband reads my blog all the time and teases me. At least they support us by reading what we're posting - I love the girls that hint on their blogs what they want for Christmas!

  22. DEAREST ONE!!!!!!!!

This splendid idea reminds me of a PINTEREST recipe I saw for RED hot chocolate and CREAM CHEESE whipped cream! I must find the photo and the name of the blog from where it came..but what richness here!

THANK YOU Jacqueline for coming to visit me; it is always a joy to see your visit and BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS THIS HOLIDAY! Any chocolate recipes sliding onto your Thanksgiving table? ENJOY! Anita

  23. Fabulous - do you think you can have your husband talk to my husband? Aside from throwing together a plate of nachos and heating up leftovers, my hubby is pretty unfamiliar with the kitchen. Wish we would have started the "I cook, you clean" rule when we got married.

To answer your question, yes, hubby is very supportive of my blog. Although he once teased that I couldn't take any photos of something because the family wasn't waiting at the table, starving :).

I hope you have a fabulous week!
