Frosty the Snowman Table for Eight

It has been so bitterly cold here lately so these cute snowmen
all cuddled up in their scarves, ear muffs and hats just
are perfect for this weather.

Our friends Annette and Wally invited our family over for dinner
and were featuring their incredible new winter plate set that they
had purchased this year from Kohls.

Who knew that Kohls had such darling dishes.  The
designers had created every imaginable piece
from plates to mugs to place card holders - just fantastic.

Annette and Wally said they went back five times
to get all of the pieces they wanted.  Everything was so
cute, I could understand why.

(Now they are wondering where they are going to store them!)

From up above notice that they have two kinds of
placemats, the round vinyl ones and then the oblong
fabric ones.

I love how they placed the round vinyl ones around and on
the lazy susan so the center of the table is cute.  This
way you get to see the adorable snowman's face too.

They purchased a couple of different candle holders
and cute salt and pepper shakers.

Even little butter spreaders and a butter dish.

I have to admit these fun handled bowls were my
favorite.  I love the ear muff as the handle.

Here is one of those bowls sitting on the vinyl
place mat and the head looks like it belongs
right on the head of the snowman on the placemat.

These little fellows were adorable too.  They were
three little stacking bowls.

His darling face reminds me of one of my grandkids.
His little cheeks are almost kissable!
His knitted hat comes off so all three can hold goodies.

Here's a shot of the fabric placemat.

Even matching napkin rings.

I love the plates too.

One last item, cute kitchen towels.  Wow, we
were blown away and as a follower of my blog
she knew we would appreciate her lovely table.

I can't leave without showing you our delicious dinner.  We had
shredded beef and her special creamed corn ( I will have to
blog that killer recipe) to top baked potatoes.  When I asked
for the recipe for the salad dressing she told me that she had
used Girard's Champagne Vinaigrette - wow, now that is
one to try - loved it.

It is so wonderful to have friends who will open their houses
to you and share their homes and their love by creating a
lovely dinner.  We felt truly blessed.
Thanks.

Bring someone in from the cold and warm up their lives
by sharing dinner with them.  It's a great thing!

I will be sharing this table with

I invite you to share my adventures in creating, in travel, and in life.

  5. Jacqueline -- very fun and whimsical table -- I WILL NOT go check these out at Kohls -- I DO have enough snowmen stuff -- although though little handled bowls and the square plates are enticing. What a fun table to have guests over to share a warm winter meal. Joni

  15. Your friends did a wonderful job of setting that whole snowman theme! How Fun!!

I'm like you in that my favorite things are those cute handled bowls. The whole thing is so adorable, though, that it's the table in its entirety that takes the cake rather than the individual pieces. What a great job.

I loved the aerial shot the best.

  17. Oh, Jaqueline! This is just as cute as can be, and it is the perfect winter tablescape. I adore snowmen. I'm with you... I think my favorite is the bowl with the earmuff handle. How cute is that!

Your friend just went all out with this tablescape, and I'm so glad she allowed you to share it with us. I shopped at Kohl's last Christmas for the first time (or actually Christmas a year ago), and I loved their Christmas ornaments (intials shaped and painted like cookies)! Had I seen these, I feel certain they would have jumped into my basket, too.

I posted a fallish table tonight because I had prepared it and then got into a time crunch. So I'm sharing that while everyone else is sharing winter. BUT I am having a dish giveaway so hopefully that will make up for it. LOL!

    Happy Tablescape Thursday!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  19. Hey! I don't think my Kohl's had those plates. But then, I guess that's a good thing or I'd have had to get all the pieces too. The bowls are darling - as are the napkin rings with the noses sticking out. I am so jealous. What a darling set-up.

  26. The snowmen dinnerware is just adorable. So perfect for this winter weather. I heard on the weather tonight that FL (where I live) is the only state in the US that is not experiencing snow. I did wonder about Hawaii though???
